Rule - Max 2 players from the same team (within xx amount of wee

This is a rule managers from bigger markets might not be familiar with. You can only buy two players from the same club within a certain amount of weeks. I don't even know how many weeks this is. 13? 10? Does this rule have any entries in the manual? I looked, but couldn't find any..

Basically, this rule is to prevent cheating. Don't we have MA/GA's for that?
Not to mention that cheaters can easily bypass this rule. If they have two teams, what is there to prevent them from having a third and a fourth etc.

Instead, what this rule actually prevents, is users from smaller countries being able to have full access to the local market. Even in a country like Norway, where we are a decent amount of managers (+50), very often you are faced with a situation where you can't place a bid on a player, because you previously bought a couple of players from the same club. And unless you studied your transfer history prior to trying to make the bid (who does that?), this will come as a surprise to you.

Just these last couple of seasons, there have been two incidents in Norway (that I know of) where managers have made a guarantee bid on a player, and then been unable to place that bid due to this rule/limitation. And both of them are experienced managers. Today/tomorrow I have to help one of them out, by acting as a proxy. That way, the seller will get what he was offered, and the buyer will eventually get the player.

Perhaps it is time to review this "small country rule"?
Or if not, atleast give the users easy access to a list over clubs they are prohibited to buy from.

And perhaps adding this transfer rule to the manual, if it isn't already there.

they cannot remove completely this rule cause there could be situations where a GA would have to rule out some transfers and then end up being ridiculed because of luck of hard evidence etc (I hope you understand what I'm talking about)

but what they can do is just what they did with the minimum transfer value, raise the limit from 2 to 3 or even 4 (players bought from the same team)

have the team "flagged" (the one you bought from the players) only for the running season and at the start of each season just reset the "flag"

that way there's no need to check/count for restriction days

I know you are well intentioned but I also know that, however just your behaviour is, it may be considered transfer cheat - amicable understandings for transfers, outside the free market.

Anyway, what you mention is a ridiculous rule, which can be bypassed very easily (just as you mentioned) - we have federations, we have friends, we have many ways to do so - and the point of the rule will only affect good-faith managers.

I am all for removing the restriction or either increasing the amount of players that can be bought, or decreasing severely the weeks you have to wait for a third transfer.

PS: I tried to remember but really I can't. I don't know how many weeks you gave to wait - 15?

This practice is not forbidden in the manual, but not encouraged either.

Norway is in group B witch is categorized as a "medium" country.

Yeah, together with China and Romania :D

So this rule is limiting the transfer freedom even for honest users in medium size countries. The negative effect is much bigger in smaller countries of course, where you have only a handful of managers to buy local players from.

One thing is that it hits us hard, another is that there is no trace of this in the manual? It is a hidden rule, that you need to learn the hard way from first hand experience. And experienced managers like myself and civilu, have no idea how many weeks this limitation is. 10? 13? 15? Anyone saying 20? Do I hear 5?

I think the limitation/rule should be removed. Then there is no need to do any alterations to the manual, and no need informing mangers about which clubs they are prohibited to buy players from (including a xx days left until you can buy a player from this club again).

I am not so eager on lowering the weeks the limitation is in effect, since there are cases where you would like to buy 4-5-6 players from the same team when they are selling out.

I could have guessed it would take an Australian user to know this rule thoroughly..

Haha it happened to me recently. I went to bid on a player and I wasn't even aware I had bought 2 players from that side.

Sucks when a quality side from your country sells up and you've got lots of cash but can only choose two players to bid on :(

I know that my country is in Group C, but how do I see it?

We play the league U18, 21 and 23 against the country of China, there is no way to play against them, see the Chinese transfer market and look at yours or mine.
