Potential raise in the maximum asking price?

As you may already have read in the news: (https://www.managerzone.com/?p=news&nid=90052)
A while ago we decided to raise the maximum asking price in hockey from 3 to 8 times the player value, after requests from several of our users. We have not noticed any negative impact on the hockey transfer market due to this update, and now we are considering to do a similar change in football.

Now it's up to you to decide about the potential change
You can share your opinion about a potential change in this thread, but we have also opened up a poll in the ManagerZone Federation that will be running for 7 days.

Choose between the following options:
1. No change from today = 3 times the player value
2. Change to 5 times the player value
3. Change to 8 times the player value

The poll is found in the ManagerZone Federation:
https://www.managerzone.com/?p=federations&fid=2

Note that: Additional changes related to the asking price update might be done in the future, after we have been analyzing the result of this change.

Interesting. I like that.

Hello.

Regarding the change in the sales value of the players, another good solution would be to allow a manager to sell his player for up to three times his face value or 10% above the value of the last purchase (which is greater).

So if a big player (with a face value of 2 million euros) was bought by a manager for 30 million euros, then he can put up for sale for up to 33 million euros.

Hugs.

From everything I read, I think this change is, in fact, just for super-players.

I also believe that increasing the sales limits should be accompanied by an increase in the tax rate charged. And exponentially (non-linear). The manager needs to think about whether it really pays to put his player on the market for such a high value.

I really like the idea of opening the super-player graph (or that the manager thinks he's a super-player). And I even believe that the limit value need not be as high as that quoted by the @sunden13. I believe that above 3 million euros, the graph should already be open.

My suggestion from the previous page solves the problem of whoever complained about selling his player for half the price he bought.

By taking balanced measures together (raising the tax rate and opening the graph) I believe I could even remove this limit. Without counterpart, I would keep as is or would only increase to 4 times or 5 times.

Hugs.

I just want to mention one thing: I do not understand the arguments against increasing the max value of a placement on TL (eithr 5x or 8x).

As things stand right now, this is a must forȘ
- Uxx players
, who have a value of some 5-700k euro maximum but could be worth on TL anything between 2 and 4 M euro,
- but also for strong seniors, who get to be sold usually at prices higher than 3M euro, which is the maximum you can ask for a solid senior (who is usually valuated in MZ around 1M euro).

So there's a certain degree of loss a manager is obligated to assume in the worst case scenario when the TL does not provide enough fight for his player between potential buyers, to make him sell for the high amount which the manager would consider appropriate, which is not something that should be encouraged or allowed.

It's basically an undeserved sanction for managers having better-than-average players and to sanction (instead of encouraging) performance in this game seems a non-sense.

PS: There are some great ideas being thrown around this topic and I hope Peter has them all considered:
- updating value system for players;
- increasing TL tax;
- allowing for whichever is higher between 3/5/8x value and the purchase value;
- mandatory TG shown when the requested value exceeds 3x value or 2-3 M euro.

Anyway, anyone saying they want to keep the system (or anyone else who's heard any such explanation) please enlighten me how this increase (5x/8x) would damage the game or managers or anything in MZ.

Why you want increase transfer start limit? Offer means - any change or increase. Maybe we should consider lowering the initial price?

I have two different offer.

1. Start price to all of the transfer should be 1Euro.
And final price will be regulate independently, by market.

2. Without any limits, but ... transfer charge at this moment is 1,25% but with maximum limit 5000 Euro.
Why? You can remove limitation for start price and maximum charge. If I've a wish I can put my player with price 10kk Euro but charge from it will be 125.000 Euro :)
It's a normall situation. Why do we have any limits?

Changing the listing cost could potentially ruin teams struggling against bankruptcy. The solution to this imo would be listing price to be 1% of the clubs bank balance, thus meaning the uber rich clubs would have the same dilemma as the poor clubs when it comes to listing.

I assume the logic for not wanting change stems from users cheating, now they can do so even more effectively, but imo it doesnt matter which system you employ there will always be cheaters and those to seek to gain advantage.

I disagree with mandatory training maps on players over 3mil as this can and will only benefit the richer clubs, thus helping create a greater divide and solidify their positions. it should be the sellers choice if they wish to display it, and the buyers risk if they want to buy him, it could mean a bargain (rarely) or it could just mean read between the lines.

Lowering the initial listing price is also not a good idea. I know i have players i am willing to sell for the right price, or players i will sell if i get XXX for them, hence how i choose my listing price. If i were forced to list everything at $1 them im sure i would miss out on significant income for my team as this option removes the buying and training option on the market as sale price is not guaranteed. I mean i could list a great player, and its Swedish Labour day, or National Picnic Day in Brazil or whatever and nobody is around to bid.

TBH i think this whole thing will make little difference overall by just raising the listing amounts available, other than ensuring you can get a fair price for a player with high Speed/Stam and 10 in another area (tackl for example) where players values are low but their market values are high. I assume the dreamers out there will just list their mediocre players for even more in the hope some idiot buys them and we get to see the same names going around and around our awesome 1 page of transfers.

I'd go for 8 times the player value, I mean you can ask what you want but if the price is too high you won't see, so I don't see the harm in that.

I know I have many young players that I'd consider selling if I knew I could list them for the money I want, but with the market being so unpredictable I really don't want to risk listing them for 3x the value and then wait for bidders and hope I get what I want.

Change to 5 times

Implement minimum time a player must spend at your club before he is sold on again based on how much you paid for them.

Stops teams buying titles and flipping players so reguraly.

If a player is bought top dollar they must stay one complete season till they can be sold again. Mid dollar half season and low dollar 20 days. Something similar to that would be great. Some form of financial fair play rule. Help close the gap even a tiny bit between the top and bottom clubs

In addition to this, I would like one more change wich is that managers shouldnt pay any taxes for youth players's sell , because is the unfairest tax in MZ. The only thing that this tax cause is that managers dont feel like training youths

I agree with jazz (# 2) and chucky. We need to bind players with contracts like in RL or like the coaches we have here. For a period of time after the purchase, players shouldn't be allowed to move from that team unless paying a very high fine.

Please consider my player. His value was only 720K euros until this Monday which meant I was not able to ask more than 2,16 Million. His value increased 53K this month which only helps an additional 150K sell value.

Why am I not able to ask for 5 million for my player which is only slightly higher than what was offered 5 months ago?

Re: Potential raise in the maximum asking price?

Case and point right there terter.

As for binding players to contracts. When they opened the amount of foreigners we could have they essentially killed the market and turned it into this elitist joke it is today where a player is worth either millions upon millions or nothing at all. Stopping people from flipping players entirely will end this game permanently for many. I mean atm you have to wait 5 weeks or lose 95% of any profit made, or wait 13 weeks (a season) before you can make any profit. i think what they have in place is just right, i would loosen it off if anything.

Well, I have players like this for example:

Gene Simmons

Age: 46 (Retired)

John Bonham

Age: 46 (Retired)

I can't ask more than $1.5M for them, I don't care much about U21 competitions so I don't really need them now but I don't want to list them and risk getting a lower than expected amount of money, market is too unpredictable so I just keep them, train them and hope I can use them for my team when they're 25/26 y/old

I think a higher limit might encourage managers like myself to sell some players.

Btw, for my example, 5X is still too low..... that'll be $2.5M and I wouldn't sell any of them for that money.

Plus the fact that you already have financial sanctions for high transfers already in place - salaries.

There.s no need for tieing players to a club - remember this was the reason for many popular upraisings throughout the centuries in real life and we don.t need to make the same mistake here as well. It.s enough as it is.

Re: Potential raise in the maximum asking price?

IMO...I voted for no change but that appears to be a minority view. However, if the majority and Crew want to increase the maximum asking price 5X or 8X, then why not just make it unlimited...the market is already highly over inflated as it is.

The main issue that should be addressed...is what has caused the market to be highly inflated?...do we want to allow the market to continue to spiral upward and out of control?...or do we even care about curtailing it?

Apparently, most users want the sky to be the limit.H

Re: Potential raise in the maximum asking price?

They should not increase the maximum sale price because it only benefits the most powerful clubs that have the most valuable players and much more capital. It will happen as in the Argentine Super League or a long time ago in "The League" of Spain: few opulent teams and the great majority immersed in mediocrity

Re: Potential raise in the maximum asking price?

Badge image
Any limit is far from needed given that GAs will manage to sufficiently supervise the flaw of transfers.
Other than that, I too don't see a good reason for all this fuss.

Re: Potential raise in the maximum asking price?

Badge image
the maximum asking price limit hurts managers who either don't have the time nor want to haggle for a transfer

most of the transfers of high profile/high selling price players, are already concluded even before the player is placed on the transfer list

like many users already said, the market itself will decide the final bidding selling price

inflation on the transfer market you say? that has to do with the accumulated money on the team bank accounts

2. I think 5 times is enough. Then I think you should change the fee also. Up to 20 million swedish kronor 5% in fee and 10% on all transfers above 20 million.

The change made in the hockey has reset the market: so many players offered to crazy figures for which bidding can not be made and that they are not sold

Unless GAs are extra vigilant (which I very much doubt), raising the asking price limit would only be of benefit to multi-account cheats.
Imagine this... Teams like, let's say, Green Bay would be able to unload useless players to a team like, oh I don't know, maybe Ludlow (owned and operated, for example, by the same cheating manager) for megabucks with little risk of detection.
It was hard enough to spot these offenders in the past. It will be harder still with a raised asking price and this will be to the determent of every honest manger in MZ.

Re: Potential raise in the maximum asking price?

I vote for
1. No change since today = 3 times the value of the player

I believe that by raising the sales price, it would be reducing the options for new managers to acquire good players to improve their roster. The idea is to continue incorporating users worldwide, this will only favor those who have been in the game for many years and have a good wallet.

Hello.

In the Brazilian forum, the biggest concern is with cheaters. There are requests for rules that hinder the actions of cheaters in the BR forum. And this suggestion doesn't represent this desire (in the opinion of who has posted messages in the forum). The change may have been beneficial for a smaller market (such as in hockey), but for football it wouldn't be necessary.

I note that there are two large groups in the Brazilian community (they aren't the only groups, but they appear to be the largest groups): a) who believes that there are many cheaters and that the GA team has difficulty identifying all situations. b) who believes that the GA team is very severe in punishments for cases where they should be considered legal.

These two groups don't dialogue (obviously). However, there's only one point in common between them: both would agree to open the training graphs, if so for all managers. In this way, the transfer market itself would be autoregulated. Anyway, the comment is that if a player is worth 6 million euros, even if it goes on sale for 1 euro, this player will be sold for 6 million euros or a similar amount.

For this reason, I believe that any change must be accompanied by counterparts. That is, something that makes the manager think a lot if it's worth putting your player for such a high value.

Hugs.

Well that didn't take long. Already we see people taking advantage of the new maximum to list their players for even more than they will sell for.

I'm sorry, but to all you people listing your players for what you think they are worth, but are ridiculously overcompensating for your own ego. No one will buy them for that price!!!

You need to be realistic when listing players for sale, give up living life on a cloud and come back to reality
