Winger tactic too effective for as long as I can remember

Hi guys, I'm playing MZ for about 12 years now. My experience is that competing against a winger tactic is not easy, especially when you don't want to change tactics for every opponent. The winger gets the ball, moves up field, plays the aerial ball and the striker almost every time makes an effort on goal and scores A LOT! Have a look at this match for example: http://www.managerzone.com/?p=match&sub=result&tid=121518&mid=937599953 I know it's a far stronger opponent but this happens with equally strong opponents as well. agreed. I played wings for years and eventually I just got bored of watching the same 3D sim game after game. I've built my team around speed and short passing now. problem is I have way too many games where I don't score or get badly outplayed by "inferior" teams (ie - outshot 14-6). my overall record isn't bad with the short passing, I just found I was far more consistent with the wing play.agreed.

I played wings for years and eventually I just got bored of watching the same 3D sim game after game. No argument, 13 vs 14 chances. I guess your Chinese forward had a bad day with only (?!) 2 goals? Also 2-2, quit even match, evenly strong opponent. Can happen. Maybe you should not have done the substitutions of the 19 and 24 years old players in the 75th minute. Right after you conceded the 2nd goal

I see. But 16 against 7 chances, so lucky result. In normal circumstances you would lose the match with these chance number (16-7).

Define Top leagues? I play in Estonian ML. Do you consider it top league? [:P]

You're playing in the highest league of your country, right? I'm playing in the 2nd division in Netherlands (Eredivisie, 1th, 2nd) so that's the 3th league class.You're playing in the highest league of your country, right?

The wing tactic can be a dominate tactic depending on the make up of the players on the team...but I wouldn't say short passing can't beat the wing tactic. I play with both tactics and am constantly alternating in my usage of either tactic to out wit my opponent. However, due to the randomness of the sim I can not get a handle on any consistency of a dominate tactic with my players who have good skills for either tactic.The wing tactic can be a dominate tactic depending on the make up of the players on the team...but I wouldn't say short passing can't beat the wing tactic.

I have experienced a consistency by replacing my players with kangaroos. At least they are hopping no matter what tactic I choose, short passing or wings. That's pretty much the consistency, but I am happy with it. Mind you, my results speaks for themselves.
