It's radical I know.
But nothing else would change.
You just have 2 extra seasons to develop players as youths.

Re: Lower the youth age to 14

In my country, 16 is still the age to consent.
"Age of consent law in Canada refers to cultural and legal discussions in Canada regarding the age of consent, which was raised from 14 to 16 in May 2008 as part of the Tackling Violent Crime Act."
If a youth can't consent to became a player to my club under the law, he's useless to me.
Can you spot any kangaroos don where you are?

It would lower the cost of developing players
In real football, players don't arrive at professional club as if it's the first time they've ever kicked a football, so this would allow you more time to train them earlier
Should a player show real talent quickly they could realistically make the first team, ie seniors, around the age of 21
It would open up the possibility of an U18 international world cup
It would widen the premiership window for how long your senior team is competitive before players start deteriorating
It would lessen the impact of players being underdeveloped because people are constantly on selling talented Uxx players and not developing them properly, because you'll have then longer as youths without being able to sell them

Radical idea...but why not. Judging from the skills 16 year olds come into the academy with in MZ, I think those skills are more suitable to 14 year olds.

and what will happen in the future when you have a bunch of 25/26 yo maxed in every skill (besides set plays/heading/keeping)
?
the u18 nations cup sounds interesting, but what about the youth exchange programme? what will happen if someone decides to exchange a national u18 player?
the NT will end up missing players? or the manager of the team will be forced to keep the youth he doesn't want for a full season (or whatever the time limit will be for the u18 nationals to be *unflagged* as nationals in order for them to exchangeable?
don't think there's a viable option here (regarding the cup)

I will only support this magnificent idea if the youths come with their diaper bag at no cost to our club.

I would prefer that was the case. Plus it opens up future game development opportunities for adding new skills

If a player gets exchanged you lose them from the team. Simple

fair enough, but correct If I'm mistaken (since you're NT)
the NT roster gets "locked" before the tournament starts, right?
what will happen if lets say 15 out of the 30 (no idea what the max number of players in the NT roster is) NT u18 players get exchanged in the same day? and what will happen if 10 out of the 15 get exchanged the next week?
The problem is that (at least that's what I believe) crew would be more than happy to implement something that follows the current setup of the game and doesn't cause problems

I'm not sure on the exact rules of how the NT player lock and youth exchanges would work. But it's an idea to think on

sorry about the "incomplete" post....I have a 2 year old daredevil in the house :P
The problem is that (at least that's what I believe) crew would be more than happy to implement something that follows the current setup of the game and doesn't cause problems, but won't try to implement something that requires new code/rewriting rules/or whatever else might cause instability or a new setup/new rules etc etc
cause if they didn't had any problems, then all those years we'd have a new sim engine and not constantly patching up the old one. not to mention more serious problems (marketability wise) like the 3d/analyzer not working anymore with the latest versions of certain browsers...

I'd be fine with whichever one overruled the other. NT managers would adapt either way
