I have some questions about european and us trucks. Can somebody explain to me?

Why do us trucks have a long front nose and why european systeam doesnt use that?

Why the wheel system is so different? European use one front three back single wheels and us truck system is two front, two back double wheels.

Currently a standard EU heavy truck with semitrailer is allowed to have a maximum length of 18.35 meters and a maximum weight of 40 tons. The Cab is allowed to be 2.55 m wide and 4.00 m high. The minimal lenght of this cab is 2,35 meters. So in Europe the maximum lenght of a truck with semi trailer includes the length of the cab, which means that a cab with nose takes away length required in the cargo area. This is the main reason.

If the US asked if Canada wanted to merge and make one big US, would they do it?
