Bring PS Back Please!

Now, some of you here may not know the game. Some may do. Some maybe sick and tired of hearing this and some want to make their voices heard. I am of the latter. I am not a prolific user here but in PS, I was known as imbackandreadytofight mainly as some may recognize. PS = Power Soccer. A game that brought joy amongst the users and had a nicely tight-knit community during its highs and lows.

I agree that there's nothing like it out there and I'm glad I could experience the tons of fun I had, but unfortunately it's gone. We can't do much other than to let it go.

I'm also certain that the crew loved PS as much as we do. It wasn't an easy one for them, they probably thought about it for long and wouldn't have taken the decision unless it was absolutely necessary. They tried other solutions, but it didn't work, the game sadly wasn't profitable enough anymore. It is what it is.

I want to point out that we have given our reasons for closing down PS on a number of occasions, and that we have been very upfront an honest about those reasons. But to reiterate, the main problem with PS is that it was built with technology that most browsers have stopped supporting. In 2005 PS was the hot new thing and lined up perfectly on all browsers/OS's. We hoped it would stay like that for many years to come, but unfortunately it didn't. Consumers looking for a fast'n'easy football games started looking in other places, such as mobile.

A small number of very loyal customers (such as yourself) continued to support PS through these times and that is something we remember with very fond memories. You and everyone else who played PS obviously noted that for the last few years, no significant updates were made to the game (neither web nor 3D), which is logical considering the fact that PS was built on a platform in decline. We had a lot of users complaining to us about the absence of updates, but for the most part those were non-paying users who basically asked us to fix the game on our free-time. PS never had the reach we hoped it would get, but the last few years in particular it became obvious that PS wasn't going to ever grow. Partly because of the failing technology, partly because the market to whom PS appealed only played the game for as long as it was free.

We let PS stay online for perhaps a little while longer than we should have, because it was one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make. But once we decided to take it down we did everything we could possibly think of to look after our users. We let many months pass between the announcement and the point at which the game was taken down, to give people a chance to get used to the idea and say goodbye to the game. We offered money-back for purchases, we set up a Federation on MZ and offered freebies in MZ for PS users, there was also a FB group created for the community. We were in mourning just like all of you.

PS was an awesome game while it lasted. I came up through the community there myself and probably played in excess of 10.000 games during the years. Some of the guys around me in the office make weird faces when I tell them than I enjoyed playing PS more than billion$ consol games, but it is actually true. There was something about PS that really appealed to my control-freakish nature. It was simple yet complex. Everyone had their own style of playing. Sometimes I would play under "incognito" usernames and five minutes in they would msg me: "pow?" Hah! They actually figured out it was me just by watching me play. And that was while we had thousands of daily actives.

All that said, I don't appreciate some of the content in your post here. If you have any questions about PS you are welcome to mail me. But please don't ask people to spam persons who had nothing to do with this decision. That is not appreciated at all! PS was a Powerchallenge product and it was us who decided to take it down. It was the correct decision.

I did not mean to offend you(PowerChallenge) when I made this post. I highly respect you guys seriously. Whether I was transferring product to new accounts or question regarding issues about Power Token offers, you always helped. PowerChallenge is a great company and I respect you and everyone that is a part of it. I played the game for 7 years so pretty much I was super loyal to you and you guys were to me.

I wish to ask you questions personally as well but I don't know if your email has changed or is it still pow@powerchallenge.com. Would love to hear more and I get the feeling that details of questions I may ask you might not want to be here in the forum, so please POW confirm you email address. Thank you so much.

P.S. I really loved the game and I love your company. Please don't take it the wrong way. Thanks!

Vote me for prime minister and I'll bring PS back. And I'll give free tokens and memberships to everyone.

Most of them are here. You can ask Pow to invite you to PS Fed. We're all there. :)

Instead of asking about getting PS back I'd like to thank to all those who worked hard for the PS community.

I had great times there.

I understand PS didn't work on most browsers because of NPAPI issues. I was thinking can you guys Managerzone AB not recreate PS (If possible) as a game that runs on a pop-up window/a game you have to download and install to be able to play, basically an application game, e.g Football Superstars, Superstar Racing. Check them out especially Superstar Racing.

The PS website will be used to view teams, forums, highlights etc.
I know this may be difficulty to do but I thought I'd just give a suggestion.

If they approve your idea, I'll send you 25 Power Tokens dude!

I know it's difficult but the game was great, the way we could interact with people around the world, the communities (PS Stereo, PS Goodies, Blogs...). I think if the idea still good why not recreate the game again? :D
