The search for the fattest player in MZ

Badge image
This is a fun thread celebrating all those players who enjoy a hearty meal, go back for seconds and thirds, raid the fridge for a midnight snack, before downing breakfast like their starving and repeating the process with lunch. These boys are hungry and their appetite weighs heavily on your clubs catering expenses.

There are quite a few players out beyond 100kg, but who'll tip the scales with most flesh on their bones.

These boys are big, very big.

I'll go first with my 3 current lovers of food, glorious food.

At a mere 102kg Neil Notley is one fat youth, maybe that's why he is so slow

Neil Notley

Age: 49

So far defying the laws weight to speed, Lance weighs in at 104kg

Lance Szobczak

Age: 49 (Retired)

But out doing them all with his love of the Carbs, Bruce "Wayne" Cuddihy shows that fat people can sprint with all of his tall meaty 106kg, 199cm (6 foot, 5 and half inches) frame

He'll stop the goals by hands, feet or girth.

198cm and 107kg

BMI - 27.29

Adalmo Trancoso

Age: 54 (Retired)

178cm and 87kg

BMI - 27.45

Re: The search for the fattest player in MZ

They're still big units, what is the maximum height a player can be. Anyone have a player over 200cm tall?

Re: The search for the fattest player in MZ

Badge image
Bruce Cuddihy has a BMI of 26.8. Only 5 percent of men the same age have a higher BMI, so it's fair to say these boys are carrying a spare tyre around the waist.

Re: The search for the fattest player in MZ

Badge image
Age 17, at 195cm Lance's BMI is 27.4 with only 4% of people his own age with a higher BMI.

MZ is skewed as players remain the same weight and height no matter what age they are. These are some big boys though

Re: The search for the fattest player in MZ

To give you an idea of myself I'm 31, 181cm, 72kg, BMI 22, about 28 percent of men at the age of 31 are below and 72 percent are above this value.

My heaviest is 106kg, lightest is a mere feather at only 63kg! A 43kg difference is pretty impressive

Here is an list of the Body Mass Index (BMI). Even at the higher end of the scale none of these boys are Obese, being athletes they can probably carry the weight as long as they stay fit. But still, if you're over 100 kg as a teenager, even at 6 foot 5 inches tall (around 199cm), you're pushing the upper end of the scales

BMI below 16.0 Kg/m2 Severely underweight
BMI = 16.0 to 18.5 Kg/m2 Underweight
BMI = 18.5 to 24.9 Kg/m2 Normal weight
BMI = 25 to 29.9 Kg/m2 Overweight
BMI of 30 or greater Kg/m2 Obese

Re: The search for the fattest player in MZ

Before I sold up my long serving goalkeeper Rob Duncan, also a member of the national team playing 79 friendlies, 12 cups and a few man of the match awards was a midget. At 160cm and 56kg he was the smallest/lightest goalkeeper and any player for that matter I've ever seen, but damn he was a good player

Re: The search for the fattest player in MZ

So on current evidence we have a scale of possibility ranging from

Using a proper cm to feet and inches calculator from this site

http://www.thecalculatorsite.com

160cm to 199cm
or
5 feet 2.9921 inches to 6 feet 6.3465 inches

leaving a possible height variable between all players regardless of playing position of 39cm or 1 foot 3.3543

On the side of weight we have

56kg to 107kg - leaving a variable of 51kg
or
123lb 7.3420oz to 235lb 14.314oz - a variable of 112lb 6.9722oz

Should anyone have a player smaller or larger in height and weight this would slightly alter the figures above. But I think we've got a good idea of the sample size outliers. I wonder if if you had a large enough sample size where the median would sit on the bell curve and what the standard deviations would be

Re: The search for the fattest player in MZ

Badge image
That's a much larger variation of weight than height and that in conclusion, should the game introduce weight and height as active factors in the sim, the player model itself would have to change.

Players would need to start smaller and keep growing until 16-22/23 or higher as some people do keep growing into their 20's. But equally other have a growth spurt early and stop, I've been the same height 181cm since I was 16 years old.

It would require players height effecting the possible role a player could occupy as a smaller goalkeeper would let in more goals. It's no coincidence that the best goalkeeper in the world stand at least 190cm tall, with huge wingspans. But a smaller player could be an asset in midfield or as a poaching forward.

You could still have tall players being fast, and those that are would be truely exceptional, yet a mid sized to smaller player would be faster more often. Yet susceptible to players stronger than them being able to knock them off the ball easier.

Also in comparison to the maximum height difference of 39 cm, 51kg seems a lot to be a paired corresponding variable. Are you really more than 1kg heavier for each additional cm you grow, that doesn't quite add up.

Re: The search for the fattest player in MZ

Sorry to revive another old thread, but I was curious to see if anything has changed in 4 years or we are still using the same height and weight model today.

The range of heights and weights across all players

Height range

160cm to 199cm

Weight range

56kg to 107kg

I have one thinner than 56 kg. Check out Varg Viken (55 kilos):

He only had 1 slice of bread with chocolate spread for breakfast, lunch and supper.

Truly a small human he is.

Weight range

55kg to 107kg

That makes it even more disproportionate. 52kg weight range for players spread across 39cm of height variation.

If Crew ever want to implement height & weight into the new sim (whenever that is built), or the game in general, they'll have to completely redesign this aspect of the game. Because it just wouldn't work.

No one would want a small goalkeeper as they would let in more goal due to a lack of height and wingspan.

There aren't many small professional athletes in the around 5ft 2, with Horse racing being the obvious exception. It just doesn't work out that way.
