Well Mz is dead when there's no Ashes banter. Hoping for a repeat but it aint gonna be that easy in UK that's for sure. Also a shame about Harris he was an elite bowler who went under the radar somewhat.

English pitches are a disgrace - they doctor them depending on the opponent more than anyone. Green when India visit, lifeless when we visit. I bet NZ won't get the decent pitches next time they come either.
Makes cricket shit to watch - England are the reason people say it's boring.

5 draws because of bad pitches and bad weather doesn't win anything.

At least in England the UK Managers might write something as the poms are at least a 50/50 chance of winning.
Things went very quite during the recent ashes down under

This lord's wicket is a road. Hopefully it breaks up day 4 and 5 taking 90 degree spin or this will be a high scoring draw

What happened there? Even on day 4 that was still a glorious batting deck and England were bowled out in 37 overs.
It's all squared up and the roles are reversed from the first test as England have some soul searching to do

Summed up perfectly by Stokes's run out.
If this was tennis, England would be accused of tanking.

That runout was majestic.

It's only day 2. Do they realise it's a 5 day game. Finn has it on a string. This could be the first 2 day test since something like 1902

Actually you have to go back to 1890 since Australia lost a test to England inside 2 days

Nevill is the first batsman on either side to face more than 100 balls. Keep is up son

The rule you only know the position of a game once both sides have batted does not reflect how badly australia have played here.
The Ashes is gone, there's no coming back from this first innings capitulation

Wow. Little bit of a moving ball and the Aussies technique shown up for what it is. Best team in the world on fast bouncy pitches where it goes straight up and down.
You'd have thought by the 4th catch behind the wicket someone would have twigged.
Let's hope for some nice weather from now on

It'd be embarrassing to lose 5-0 on the straight up and down pitches then, wouldn't it?
I have never seen more pitch doctoring that in this series. Wouldn't have been so obvious if they didn't change their mind immediately after the 400+ run hammering.

Maybe we should recall New Zealand for the 5th test. Those games were far better.

None of the games have been close affairs. Whoever won, won big.
Hopefully we get a competitive game.
But in the mean time let's get behind the southern stars women who are doing well with their test match coming up.

Firstly congrats to the southern stars for a good win the test match.
In the 5th test the boys have finally remembered how to bat. After getting through the early juice they compiled a respectable 481.
Sadly it's a bit to late to matter but nice to know they can still play. Nice work Smith, Voges, Warner and Starc.
Now let's see how they bowl, let them fly boys.

This has been a weird series of cricket. Once the initiative has been gained by either team via batting or bowling well in the first innings. Neither side has had the application to fight their way back or have capitulated so badly in their first innings that a decent second innings effort has been for naught.
You either win big or lose badly. Not sure this is test cricket, where's the application to fight back when your tired and take your team from a losing position into a winning one.
Both sides have folded horribly when it mattered most

Test cricket at its very worst. Every match decided by 20 overs into the 2nd innings of the match, the rest just a formality.

This could only happen in England. The Duke ball, the shitty weather and (this series more than ever) the groundskeepers doing what they are told rather than making the best pitch they can.

Bitter cricket fan. I would rather watch Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh on a decent pitch than the Ashes on those pitches.
Couldn't really care less about losing away from home - happens all the time to every team (especially when it's at a time I can't watch on TV).

Don't both teams play on the same pitch?

Yeah, and they did, quite evenly infact - reflected by the 3-2 scoreline. But was there 25 days of cricket? No, there was 16 or something.
Isn't Test cricket a 5 day game? Not a 2 and a half day game. It even has 'test' in the name. At least an ODI is meant to be over in a day.
Name another country that has match after match ending in less than 3 days that isn't a total whitewash. It makes sense though, 5 days of good weather in a row is unheard of in the UK... which brings me back to my initial point:
