The Long Story:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3031726/Final-30-seconds-England-Women-s-U19-European-Championships-qualifier-REPLAYED-refereeing-mistake-match-restart-penalty-spot.html
In a Nutshell:
In the Women's U19 European Championships Qualifiers, England and Norway have to replay the last 18 seconds of a match today,
Why? Well, the match was being led by Norway 2-1 when England had a Penalty in a last moments of the game.
Williamson's penalty shot was successful but her English team-mate Ayane entered the box too early.
According to the laws of the game this means the penalty has to be retaken, right?...
Well the referee didn't give England another penalty, in-fact the Referee gave Norway a indirect free-kick, essentially giving Norway the 2-1 win.
UEFA have said that the last 18 seconds of the match have to be replayed again from the Penalty Spot due to the Referee's mistake...
I don't think I've ever seen this happen before... while I do agree with UEFA's decision, as it could have been an equalizer that may affect the qualifiers in the future, it does seem like a lot of hassle.
I guess we'll find out at 9.45pm if Norway wins... or draws... gosh I would not want to be the Penalty Taker or Norway's Goalkeeper xD
