Youth Legue Benefits

Badge image
I get that the only advantage of playing in a youth league is more income and prize money for the club but that's all, only the club benefits. I would like to suggest that benefits of playing in the youth league not only benefits the club but the youth players itself like in real life. real life benefits that can be added to the game include:
1. Since some youth players have to be playing hence cant attend training camp, I would like for youth players playing in youth league have increase training speed so they get balls faster and become better and have a good edge over other youths that don't play youth league.
2. the value for the youth players increase faster hence they cost a good amount more than other youths that don't play in the youth league
3. they play longer, hence take a longer time to retire
4. U21 and U23 player should also train faster and get ball faster since they are playing to get better.

im new to youth league, im just joining this season. im not making these suggestion because im just starting to player youth league and want a edge but because in real life youth player that play youth league are the ones that make it far in their career like neymar messi cristi. I live in Jamaica and their is no sustainable youth league and the players are horrible when reach senior player. of course the benefits would be different base on the type of league, like the best or highest youth league get the best benefits. Barcelona don't produce better youth players than Cardiff for no reason! but I think these suggestion can be implemented.

oh as more additional benefits:
5. it harder for youth players to max early in a important attribute, as if they are performing well at youth league one only expect they continue that way into the senior career but sometime that's not the case even in real life

That would also be very unfair on anyone who didn't play Youth League don't you think?

well it would seem that way at a glance and maybe in the early stages if those improvement was to be implemented but lets look at it long term as a core part of the game, those improvement would cause:
1. more people to invest in the game and youth.
2. for those who which not to invest money don't have to worry because in the future after couple season off implementation you will realise managers cant keep all the players that pass through their ranks so they would sell even at a low price for high valued player to balance their pay roll.
actually if you look at those reason number 2 above you will realise that its not unfair but the other way around, others that don't play youth league will be able to buy better player at lower cost and improve their team so the benefits would be shared among ever level of managers. every manager will soon have that one unstoppable player that he feel carry the team to any success they achieve

Your argument lacks logic.

The only players they pick up cheaply, will be the players the better teams don't want, because they already have better players.

They also won't be able to generate much money to buy a competitive team as all the players they produce for themselves will be vastly sub-standard and worthless.

From your 'real-life' argument. Thousands of players play in Youth Leagues, only a few of them really make it to the top. That is through training and potential ability. Not from simply playing Youth Leagues.

I cant help to think you are the one finding it hard to find the logic. it happen almost every day, manager sell their best players to buy their way out of bankruptcy not to mention managers sell their great players because new young ones come along and the cant keep all. it not even hard to reason out, think a bit more before you respond!!!

Anybody selling their best players will do so to good teams for lots of money.

The only players going cheaply will be bad players.

People who don't play Youth Leagues in your suggestion won't be able to produce any good players as they train far slower than those who play in Youth League.

Ergo, they won't be able to sell them for any money, which means they can't earn money to buy any good players with.

There is absolutely no benefit whatsoever to teams who don't play the Youth Leagues, they would be totally unable to compete at any level.

Experience is a major attribute in contributing to the performance of a player on the field of competition. Recent announcement by Crew was to make it possible for players to gain experience balls faster with the inclusion of playing in the Youth Leagues. This is good because this is exactly what players gain with participation in matches, not necessarily getting better in any given skill. Skill training in camps and on the training field is what makes a player more proficient in a given skill.

So, I disagree with making training faster just because they play in youth leagues.

as a matter of fact youth that don't play in youth league if benefits are implemented don't necessarily mean they wont be good, why? they have youth camp. managers that play youth league find it hard to send their youth players to training camp because they are playing for good position and want their best team out their and the skill benefits could well substitute for lack of time to attend training camp

Because as you proposed. Youth League players train quicker, so will get better skills faster. So non Youth League players would always be behind.

People who play Youth League still send their youths to Training Camp, the. Ast majority make room as training is more important for the future.

I think his points 1 and 4 do make some sense. If a manager has a youth academy with only 12 players he would have to decide one or the other, 5-week training camps or participate in the youth leagues. In that scenario I can see his point. Of course, expanding to 21 youths solves this unless the manager wants to be really competitive in the leagues and then doesn't want to send his best youths to training camp ever. Dilemma.

It seems to me that the training part of the sim could add 1 more relevant factor. I assume age, inherent ability, coaches, and training camps all go into it already. But if we added a new factor FORM this could be the solution to the OP. If form also gave a boost to training it would make a ton of sense. Managers would be rewarded for careful management and planning, which is what we want to encourage, and managers with a youth academy would have less need to struggle with the training camp vs. youth league dilemma. If training camps gave let's say a 100% boost, but form could give up to a 40% boost (this is just a comparative example) then managers would be well rewarded for competing in youth leagues instead of just training camps.

that's exactly what I was saying. I prefer have just the right amount of youth because I don't want to face the dilemma of having 21 graduating youth and no plan for 12 of them and they taking money for salary, plus I don't believe in sending not so good players to training camp and my good youths stay behind

To avoid the dilemma of having 21 graduating youth, many managers choose to stagger their youth so only 5 to 9 players are graduating in a given season.

This doesn't necessarily lead to a super strong youth side, but it is one of the managerial decisions which are made in the game.

Of course, a staggered program increases the dilemma of playing your strongest youth or sending them to camp for accelerated training. Again another managerial decision.

Giving a boost to training just for participating in the youth leagues would, in my opinion, not be a good thing because it would eliminate one of the major decisions managers must make regarding their youth and as mos says result in an imbalance to the advantage of the managers willing to pay for the youth leagues.
