Training suggestion

Maxing out is something I dislike. I should be that you can always grab one more, but time will run against you. 1st ball quick, 2nd little less and on, and on...

If your guy is a STAR PLAYER (in a specific skill) he will reach 10 faster but if he trains slow (in that skill) he will take more time...
YES to : Coach quality + time + potential
NO to : Coach quality + Time + Potential + Hasard

If the player is to stay bad in one skill make it that its because he is very slow to grab the next one. And slower and slower... Players will be 29 years old and show 6 speed like we currently see 29 year old with 6 right now. But if you realy want another speed, well it might take you another full season to get it. That is were you choose between getting that 7 ball or go to lets say to work on his passing were you know he will get 3 more in a season (for exemple)

And Make deterioration THE hasard part that come with age... That could be early (28)for some player and late (32) for others... That would be THE mistery. Will he last or not! Just like in real life in fact...

It would still be lot of work to figure what skills your player trains fast into. Once you know what you have, you know.

While we are at it why not make the player grow fat suddently after some age. Forcing you to work on his stamina to maintain his qualities...

Second portion sounds like how deteriorations are planned for when they are reactivated. Players will deteriorate on either speed or stamina forcing managers to decide between training other skills or trying to maintain a players fitness and speed.
