Free Agent Window

I'm aware people have already created threads on released players but bear with me.

Imagine at the start of each season there was a "free agent" pool created containing:
- all discarded players
- all retired players who could have been extended but weren't
- all teams who have been inactive for 180 days had their squad released

Managers could view the pool and see training history. If they see a player they like they can place the minimum bid (e.g. 10k) and the player would then be placed on the transfer market for 3 days.

Rules would be that a free agent can't be sold or firwd for a whole season. If the player was one that came out of retirement they would retire after the season and could not be extended further.

I think this would add to the market dynamics and especially releasing inactive teams players could benefit the game.

Thoughts?

Discarded Players - No, for the reasons everyone has said no in the past.

Retired Players who didn't extend - No, they are now retired, let them play Golf. Additionally they will go into the existing teams retired players pool and may become coaches.

Inactive Teams - Now this is more interesting, I've witnessed many a good player vanish with a team which just got bored one day and never came back. Though some restrictions would need to be put on it otherwise the market would be filled with absolute rubbish. Either a Value or # of balls in skills filter so only half decent players would be released.

That said, I still don't support it. It's hard enough for Active managers to sell their players at the moment, even the half decent ones without needing to flood the market with even more 'bot' players

I'm not proposing to flood the market. Rather that there would be a separate free agent pool and these players would only be put on the market if someone bid on one of them.
By refreshing the list once a season it would stop it from getting too cluttered and could add some interest. Maybe there could be something like the youth conditioning camp for free agents to catch up on any missed training to add to the appeal of enlisting someone's rejects

Inactive teams...YES!! Just purely because I'm saddest and if you leave the game , I should have the right to raid your football club ☺️
