I'm aware people have already created threads on released players but bear with me.
Imagine at the start of each season there was a "free agent" pool created containing:
- all discarded players
- all retired players who could have been extended but weren't
- all teams who have been inactive for 180 days had their squad released
Managers could view the pool and see training history. If they see a player they like they can place the minimum bid (e.g. 10k) and the player would then be placed on the transfer market for 3 days.
Rules would be that a free agent can't be sold or firwd for a whole season. If the player was one that came out of retirement they would retire after the season and could not be extended further.
I think this would add to the market dynamics and especially releasing inactive teams players could benefit the game.
Thoughts?
