I use chrome and windows and it works fine. 3D took awhile to load which is normal cause I never watch 3D...but once I load it then it is much quicker for the next one. Make sure you don't block powerloader.
What IE version are you using.
Might try changing your game settings in your profile which might help.

Does anyone know if the 3D works with Linux? I am using Firefox and am able to watch in 2D. I get a 'failed' download when trying 3D.

I tried it in IE 11 and it worked. When I click on 3D for a match I get a screen asking if I want to 'run' Power Challenge AB...I click run then I get a security warning screen on Application: Powerloader asking if I want to block or don't block. when I click don't block it starts loading.
Maybe you need to uninstall Java and then reinstall it. Also you might check your Flash Player...make sure it is updated.

OK, part of the problem was that I didn't have the 'official' Java installed (was using OPENJRE). I now have Oracle Java 7 installed and was presented with the option of blocking powerloader or not. I said 'no' and it proceeded to 'loading file'. It gets to file 4/17 then gives me a 'ERROR: downloadfailed' message. I have the current flash plug-in installed as well.
No idea where to go from here.

Not sure but you might check your Tools>>Manage Add-ons...make sure Adobe Shockwave Flash Object is enable. Also check your game settings in your profile.

the funny thing is the 2D works just fine, it's only the 3D that doesn't.
do I need to be a club member to have 3D work?

The 3D tries to run a .exe file which is only for Windows.

that doesn't make sense if it's relying on Java to run the match.

Using Linux doesn't make sense either :)
But yes, mac users can't watch 3D.
