each player could have one skill that is maxed uplifted by the magical coach. magical coach is your assistant manager that could unlock one of the skills that was crucial for players career. for instance an attacker with blocked 6 control has 9 speed, 9 stamina, 7 intelligence and 10 shooting. you choose to unlock control skill and pay 25 % of the players current value (in team money of course).
what do you say?

ps: the block would be lifted to 10 of course or you could make 10 % of players worth to pay for every extra ball.

But the the reach teams would be able to basically unlimit maxings, which defeats the point in having maxings in the first place.
The point of the maxings is to do exactly that. Block the skill so they cannot improve and have to be changed or sold.

Yeah, pretty ridiculous suggestion. But how about this for a different slant on the same idea...
What if, using your imagined player above, you could get an extra ball to the maxed Ball Control skill at the expense of 1 ball from another skill of equal or greater level.
You could opt to take one of his 9 Stamina balls or 10 Shooting balls (and not his usless 1 ball in Keeping or one of his 2 balls for Set Plays for example) and add it to his Ball Control skill.
You would only be able to do this once for each player and it would be on this permanent record so it could not happen again after transfer, thus lending the advantage to the owner of the youth academy that produced him.

As much as MZ is a game, a skill swap seems highly unrealistic.
"Mr Ronaldo, if you become a little bit less fit, maybe you could tackle a little better."

frankzappa, your suggestion also bears some weight. maybe your suggestion is even better. or maybe manager could redistribute 5 balls from one of the skills (no matter which) and put it as 1 ball to the desired maxed field. one time possibility. thus we could have real specialists in managerzone.
mosmosmos, mister ronaldo? you mean that fatsil who plays poker or the purty boi?
the thing about managerzone that i like is it feels like open code and our suggestions (not all are brilliant and accepted of cours) do play some role in programming the simulator.
cheers mateys!

Indeed Mos. God forbid that MZ should become unrealistic. Where then would Mourinho and Allardyce go fishing for tactics like the 1 Striker + 1 Winger + Meatwall Defence formation? :D
Picture this...
"Mr Ronaldo, in your advancing years it is quite normal for a player of you speed and ability to get a little slower while at the same time a little wiser. After recent training ground tests I suggest we remove one of your Speed points but but add one to your Intelligence tally."

While we're on the subject of realism, I just saw an advert in the transfer form for an American with 10 balls in tackling.
That amused me. Anyway, apologies. Carry on...

frankie, that is a fine idea. being smarter mr ronaldo even if he is fatter.

Isn't this basically what the result will be after deterioration is reactivating (providing of course that you are training said Ronaldo in intelligence)?
Problem solved
