Sent-off compensation

Is there a compensation to the team which had a player sent off?
This is not the first time I am asking it to myself, I admit sometimes it was to my benefit, but when I was in lower division the compensation did not seem that high.
But my league game today makes me believe that something works deeply wrong about the sent-off situations: in 67' at 1-1 my oponent has a defender sent off and the final result is that I lose 1-4!? C'mon...
If you think this could be due my players lack of stamina, better change your mind: my first 11 average stamina is above 8.
Or could there be any other explanation to this situation?

You had a defender sent off, meaning there was a gaping whole in your defense unless you had a tactic to change that. I had the same problem yesterday in a Bessie match.

kyleriese...his opponent had player sent off.

sixtyniner...What a bummer. Past sims seemed to be programmed to give some kind of boost to the team that had a player sent off but I thought they corrected it when the new sim was developed. Really makes no sense to me other than the moving of one of his forwards back created a better offensive set up. I have been tempted to set an alternative tactic for the 50 to 60th minute to move one of my forwards back to the defense to see if that makes my offense better. lol

Well I completely misread that. I have heard of getting players sent off benefiting your team, as it seemed to help your opponent, but it never helps me.
