WUT
I am a swans fan and i cannot believe it .. lol
Look at this possible forward line
Rohan -- Tippett -- McGlynn
Goodes -- Franklin -- Reid
Ridiculous !!
Who else can you put in there?
OH yeah:
LUke parker [wut! - freak]
Tim Membrey [most talented young forward in the AFL]
Dean Towers [Highest ever AFL draft vertical jump]
I must say - our forward line is devastating + the midfield depth
imagine one more key backman to backup Grundy
-- Unbeatable team really

There is a reason it's only played in 1 country.

It is played in many countries actually. Just that Australia is the only one with a professional league that you can earn a living from

That's like saying cricket is played in many backyards around Australia during summer.

Playing in the backyard is still playing. Just like kicking a soccer ball around on the street can be a game of football. Football was not always the global game that it is now, it initially spread with colonial expansion around the global and was subsequently taken up by millions. The backyard, schoolyard park or street is where it all begins

But to get this thread back on track, 9 years and 10 million dollars. It is basically a super version of the Alastair Lynch Brisbane contract, just the modern equivalent with extra years and money added. Still it means Sydney will need to find a new ruckman as Mumford has departed as a salary cap consequence.

I do believe Tippett will play the Ruck/Forward combination as I think thats what he wants to do..
Don't forget we have LRT who can also play Ruck sometimes + there is a player on the rookie list who some say can be a very good player..
Also, want to see you guys' view on the COLA [cost of living]
Obviously living in Sydney is expensive .. I believe parking there is $8 or something and that rent is 20-30% higher.
+ I don't think the BUddy backlash is justified.
These are the players leaving
- Mumford
- Bolton
- Morton
- Mattner
- Andrejs Everitt
- Tony Armstrong
All senior players and if they were all on 200k p.a. that'll equal 1.2mil - but some players are on more than 400k [Mumford I believe] .. So there would be plenty of salary room would there not?

Yeah, it's really down to Sydney managing the salary cap better than the others, but then the other clubs pointing to COLA rather than looking at anything internal they're doing.
But mostly I agree with the point that if you're earning 150K+ a year that the cost of living doesn't especially effect you. So really, should be used on the lower paid guys like rookies but that's extremely difficult to actually enforce...

I went to high school with Brad Sewell for a couple of years growing up in country Victoria. He thought a bit to much of himself back then. I had a few friends that were better footy players than him, good people to not up themselves, but none of them choose AFL as a career.

also I think Franklin is way over rated to inaccurate and hasn't been that great since his 100 goal season.
On another note if we can get Daisy over his ankle problems he will be an even better recruit than Franklin, in terms of what the club needs compared to Sydney not needing Franklin at all imo and potential long term replacement for Juddy.
