Hey guys, I like classic metal and I found a few new bands playing old school metal like for example:
Helker (Argentina) - Sounds kinda like Dio

'77 (Spain) - Similar to 70's AC/DC

So any of you guys can think of any other obscure band playing old school classic rock?

Not obscure, but on a similar topic, I went to see Iron Maiden in concert in Stockholm last week.
They were excellent.

Didn't know you have good musical taste :D
Saw them back in 98 with Helloween & Angra, but it was Blaze on vocals at the time so it's not really the same....

We were trying to do a late night McDonald's run and there were about 500 people wearing the same shirt in Maccas.
For alternative music, the crowd certainly conform to wearing a uniform :)

Jeepers cripes, that Helker singer is doing a mean Dio impersonation. '77 sound so much like AC/DC they may as well be a tribute band. Good stuff.

When I saw Maiden in 2008, the line at the merch stand stretched further than the eye can see, literally hundreds and hundreds of people. Almost every single person in line to buy Iron Maiden t-shirts, were wearing Iron Maiden t-shirts. What can I say, Maiden fans love their merch!

Holy Grail come to mind, they sound like a cross between Iron Maiden and Testament, with modern lightning-fast chops. Not my favourite thing in the world, but it definitely fits your criteria! (Make sure you hang in for the guitar solos, they are virtuo-sick!)

If you like some old Black Sabbath-esque sound with a touch of Jefferson Airplane in vocals and the flute solos of Jethro Tull, your band is Blood Ceremony:

Funny how only metal/rock fans wear t-shirts showing bands they like. Favorite place for t-shirts has got to be a festival, where you will have a competition of who has the oldest t-shirt of that particular festival, the death metal t-shirt that nobody can read and the most obscure band t-shirt. My favorite live band has got to be Rammstein, nothing beats the flamethrowers and fireworks.

I agree with Matt, Rammstein are the best live band out there ! I have seen them 4 times and they get better and better.

Budgie are one of my favourite, under-rated classics. In for the Kill is an awesome album.
Here's Crash Course in Brain Surgery (covered by Metallica on their $5.98 EP - Garage Days Re-Revisited)
