Our governors have wasted billions building stadiums that should cost half and won't bring any improvement for the life quality of population . Meanwhile , people are dying in the hospital lines due to lack of infrastructure. Violence against regular civilians is out of control , specially in touristic cities like Rio de janeiro and Sao paulo . Airports , public transportation , hosteling and other services can't handle our own interne needs , so go figure what is gonna happen in the world cup when thousands of tourists come.
Brazilians are sick of it , this world cup is gonna be messy , tourist - deceivinf and dangerous , not mentioning disrepectful to our people , considering all of our current giant problems
If you still have doubts , take a quick look on any digital brazilian newspaper right now
If you have a Friend planning to planning to come to brazil . Ask him to take a quick read on it
Guys, we are having troubles here in Brazil, but the media isn't covering any of it. Please, tell the world what's going on!

It all begun 2 weeks ago when the price of the public transport raised. Now, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, along with other cities - Fortaleza, Curtiba, Santa Catarina, Goiás, and others - are experiecing some riots and parades against the abusive price of the government services. Today was the 4th parade in 2 weeks against the price of the public transport. The movements are all non-violent, and today the police, allong with the CHOQUE troop attacked the citizens without any reason - 40 people are under arrest for possessing VINEGAR in their backpacks. 3 journalists are under arrest and 6 are in the hospital - 2 of them got shot to the head with non-lethal projectile.

I am a brazilian living in Chicago!
I don't have any other comments. juniormatador said everything!
Unfortunately it's true. Brazilians are sick of Corruption, Violence, Poor Healthy and Education Systems, High Taxes and Zero Investments.
It's sad!

Dilma Rousseff is on your side. As she said, your country has become stronger through non-violent protest. I sincerely hope you can bring about real change.
I won't be coming to the WC, or the Olympics for that matter.
Good Luck!

In Romania we build football stadiums, in stead of raising the elders pensions, or trying to keep our doctors from living to foreign countries for better salaries.
It seems that football is a way of manipulating very large amounts of money, and probably for washing them, the money.
So get out on the steets and say what it hurts so bad! You need to show them that you have balls, and you are not afraid.

Also We here in Turkey are under high pressure of the religious government. The press is also under control of goverrnment. We are screaming for freedom.
In addition, I have been punished by the FA to critize Crew who published a declaration which tells us not to discuss about the protests being held in my beautiful country.

doesn't Brazil needs the tourists to cover all the investments your country has made? I think things can't be made undone now. I know bad discicions have been made. But I think you'll need the tourist to cover the cost/investments that have been made.
All those investments without income will certainly do the country no good...
Hey, but I feel for you!

Did anyone truly think this situation would be any different? There really are only a few countries able to handle a major sporting event the magnitude of an olympics or a world cup without much effort. For Brazil's sake I hope these events don't turn too violent.

We only finished paying the olympic stadium from the 60's olympics in montreal a few years ago. Boatload of corruption back then too and half the concrete from the stadium went up north to build chalets for rich people. Then again we did get new highways, a metro system and a huge boost in tourism for years. Not sure cancelling the event is the solution but just getting your country to invest in its infrastructures as much as in the stadiums would be a good start.

The revenue from the event would not benefit brazilians, maybe the rats that are in congress but thats it plus the citizens will end up paying for it for many years. GO BRAZIL! GO!! riot the heck out of the streets!! its your country! not theirs!! boycott the world cup!!
