Bought "BF3: Limited Edition" which included the Karkand map (and a free pistol with a light on it, same fire rate, but with a torch to blind enemies...oooh). Was really enjoying it.
Then they decide that they don't want to host the servers anymore, they'd rather do it on the cheap by letting players use custom servers with their own rules. Except even though its on the cheap, it costs the players per month to use it! Add in the admins that kick you for being too good, making you switch to their side, putting insanely marathon rules on games so they pin you down in the spawns for an hour.
I have to say I was less than impressed.
Oh, then they introduce "Premium" for £40-50. Access to alphabet randomizer guns why use the BH-924 when you can upgrade to the CQ-12? (yes, I made those up).
Then Karkand is basically given away for free, what did I buy the Limited Edition for if it wasn't for extra stuff?
Then they decide that they're putting 4 sets of expansions in, most of which (except "Armored Kill") looked like "same thing, different maps".
At this point all the hardcore loyalists point fingers at Call of Duty and say "they started it". They might have started it but they didn't add in tons of extra guns for premium players only.
You want to pay to win? You'll love Battlefield 3 folks, love it.
Haven't played in months, have no intention of going near another EA Online game including FIFA - and laughed loudly with Sim City 5's launch troubles recently.
The online games market is evolving in a direction where you have to pay, and pay more, and pay more just to enjoy the game you already paid £40 for. No thanks, any games that give a tactical advantage to those with deep pockets isn't a game for me.
That's my 2p. Good luck with "End Game".

if you buy premium it's all included free. While you can buy all the guns etc for a payment what is the point, just enjoy when u kill the fools after you earned em
