Colin Murray dumped from MOTD2
By kingjaime - 23-01-2013 01:06
Good riddance. I never liked Adrian Chiles but Murray was at least as bad. He had that horrible ego thing a lot of his era of DJs had where they're as keen to get their view across and their time on mic or camera as give any time for guests. Or in this case, pundits. Self-satisfied, irritating, smug, git. These are all words to conjure with when describing Colin Murray. Long time coming, but at least he's finally going.

Pfft, I can name a few pundits that could join him.
Possibly the most painful MOTD I watched was when Lineker was out for one of the weekly showings this season... I remember the host was Gabby Logan and it had Robbie Savage on there too... they just kept talking over eachother about stupid things that weren't relevant, while the 3rd guest was just completely spoken over everytime he said anything. Thus explaining why I can't remember who it was, he barely got a chance to speak. (Those that have been following it this season must know the show I'm talking about)
Ever since that recent showing I smile a little when I see Lineker or Shearer or even Lawrenson at the start... I'm like, thanks the lord they're gonna talk about the actual football while actually knowing what they are on about.

Match of the day is pointless, if ya have a phone download espn goals, all you need to be honest
reasons I don't watch match of the day :
1. the presenters are awful
2. the analysis after each game lasts as long as the highlights, I don't need to be shown, repeatedly, what I just saw, ive seen it, I accepted what happened, don't show me 4 times afterwards, circling points of interest for Christ sake
3. not enough reaction from players and manager for me, more footage of those that matter instead of smug guests
4. moving onto sundays mainly here, I am absolutely sick to death of the 5 minute intro into the matches (footage of games previous and random crap) and these pathetic cartoons! do my bloody head in, I don't want to watch cheap cartoons I want to see the football for Christ sake
summary: I just want to see the games that have been played that day, that is all. no analysis crap, no intros that last 5 minutes, instead give us more action and for god sake even it out aswell. sick of seeing extended highlights of chealsea and arsenal when in bad form, then showing a two minute summary clip of the lower league games when their game was a better watch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
rant over

i like MOTD because to me i dont wanna just watch the game i wanna know who played good or bad closely, a lot of things arnt covered in the highlight of the game ie player runs, dribble, passes, crosses, tackling, individual performances and man of the match analysis if they dont lead to goals and i want to see that, i also want to know who in my favourite team (man-utd, im not a glory hunter, just been supporting them for 10 years and man-utd was my first actual live game i watched :)) is performing or not, usually i dont watch MOTD live coz now we got record and rewind so i watch it when i have the time and i love it :) you dont need to watch it on sunday, with modern technology watch it when ever you want.

bravo Grule, MOTD is the best proggy on the box, ive given up pub crawling and clubbing around coke headed, jack daniels and coke chavvy types ,for a nice sit down in front of the box with a few tinnies, away from drug dealer criminal class underworld chavvy types, with thier screaming molls, its a good job , cos id probably ave em all anyway, oh and back to the point, wow, KJ, how finnicky, i wonder who exactly you would like to host MOTD 2, Max Headroom maybe..

Nobody will match up to Lineker's banter, nobody.
How do you find a presenter that's covering the shadow programme that'll make people tune in? I tend to watch MOTD every Saturday but regularly miss MOTD2 just because there were only a couple of games extra - if good ones.

On a sidenote the Football League show's presenter can join Murray, no love for the guy.
