I think it's a money grabbing move.
Turkey is where players go to end their career without going too far from Europe.
Wished he'd found a home in Bundesliga or EPL.

Considering he's past the typical peak of a footballer, he's going from 6mil to 5mil (for 3.5 more years).
Liverpool or any of the other potentials wouldn't have been able to offer that.

he could stay for another half of a season and earn more money.but he chose playing..
he is Wesley Sneijder..one of the best midfielders in world.he is 28.i think thats ideal age for midfielders.only disadvantage is he hasnt been playing since september i guess.
i must admit as a Fenerbahçe fan i am jealous of seeing him with Galatasaray.

clss player, shocking attitude and wont finish his contract at gala, be off in a year or two as soon as a coach lets him know whos boss or his team mates dare question him he will be off, type of player who thinks he is better than that league no doubt. he has had numerous problems with dutch squad members and apparently causing huge problems at inter, although in the case with inter I agree with him as why should he be made to take a paycut, they offered him a huge deal and he turned down a move away to sign it.......

Career suicide. Not much more to say than that.

Don't know what to make of it. I can't even say it's great for Galatasaray or Turkish football to have a player of his level because his conduct around the move was awful. I'm surprised Galatasaray would want him after he essentially put them on hold and desperately got himself shopped around every club in the EPL, and probably Serie A, La Liga and the Bundesliga.
And for him... At 28 to move to Turkey... I've nothing against Turkish football or Galatasaray but realistically any domestic honours in Turkey are a good way down the list in terms of prestige, and the chances of winning any big European honours are small.
Basically an ugly move. A very good player with a great career thus far, and who I've never seen as a dick before, suddenly becomes ultra-pedantic about his pay level and acts like a... well a dick, yeah.
As safc said, I wouldn't expect him to stay for his whole contract. I can easily imagine him going to some rich Russian club in a season or two. (Another move that won't be about the money, of course.)

Well, if Galata was the only team interested than it shows the size of the player. He used to be a great, maybe one of the best until 2010 and I even think that he deserved to win the Ballon d'Or winning everything with Inter and taking Holland to the finals of the WC scoring 5 goals and assisting 4-5.
But since Mourinho left, he began to decline as a player. He was more injured than playing, and when he was playing he was terrible.
He is a player that gives his everything in his first season at the new club, but after that he disappears.
Inter made a mistake not selling him to Man United 2 seasons ago.

The key thing seems to be that Galatasaray were the only ones interested in paying his wage demands. Nevermind other clubs, Internazionale themselves wanted to keep him, they just wanted him to agree to a not-all-that-drastic wage reduction.

If arsenal didn't have Wilshere he would have been ideal for them but game time needs to be given to Wilshere

This is the problem with the modern players. As soon as they have a few high quality matches they knock on the clubs door for a pay rise, and if that is not granted they do everything to go away from their club.
But, when the player is declining in performances and skills they would not accept a pay cut, which would be a fair thing both for the club and the fans.
The same happened with Sneijder. After 2010 he wanted a pay rise and went from 4.5 to 6.5 and this is when he started to decline.
From 2010/11 since today his good performances with Inter can be counted with your 2 hands as you don't need the feet fingers. :)
Anyway, as a Serie A fan I am glad he signed for Gala. I hope that Coutinho and Alvarez will have more space available now, as I consider them to reach a very high level in the near future.
