Old member returning only to leave AGAIN

This is the third time I have joined the MZ community. I first joined back when 3D was very first introduced about 5/6 years ago. I had been looking for a free to play online football manager game for ages and MZ was the best of a small group of them. After 3 seasons of watching glitchy, unrealistic, sim malfunctions I quit. A few years later, out of pure boredom I decided I might have been too hasty and rejoined with a new team. Determined to stick it out until I reached at least a division 2 or 3 I created my team and even put money into MZ to keep me motivated. The new additions of player appearance customization and friendly leagues, enhanced graphics etc etc kept me as a player for longer than expected. BUT AGAIN after 4 seasons I left because all of the new updates and add ons were simply just that. Add ons. Little extra options added onto a STILL faulty simulation, with back passing strikers, aweful goalkeepers, non existant ball control and astonishing big team loses. So I left the game again and didn't look back. Then 3 years on curiosity got the best of me, I'd been playing an old LMA manager game and just got the new fifa 13 so I've been bang on the football games so I decided to come back and just see ..... what was happening in the MZ world. I was shocked to see a new sim. Now I gotta play or at least watch a few matches from different leagues I thought. And oh wow the things I seen. Just one day watching a dozen games and re-visting the old forums I am utterly appalled. In the 5 years since I first EVER joined MZ every single problem with the sim is still here. 5 YEARS !!! And there is STILL : - Strikers passing backwards or horizontally in OBVIOUS goalscoring territory. - All players REGARDLESS of skills struggling to control passes given to them. - A seemingly non-existant effect from the passing attribute. - Rigid, lifeless, unrealistic animations for dribbling, running, celebrations and kicking. - Rigid, unlogical, gameplay with simulation players showing VERY LITTLE play intelligence ( AGAIN regardless of PI stats ) - Keepers saving incredible strikes and making ridiculous close up saves from 1-1 situations. - ALSO keepers then LET IN shots that are aimed directly at them, EVEN going through them !!! - Strikers seem to have NO indication of intelligence when choosing were to place the ball when shooting. - Tactics set up on the tactics page eg: pressing, aggressive etc, seem to have minimal effective on teams in the lower leagues. - Skills such as heading and set plays show minimal effort in lower leagues and seem almost irrelevant in comparison to the speed, stamina and tackling attributes. - HUGE lack of variety in tackles, passes and shots possible from the sim - Awful penalty and free kick moments - No 3D for Mac users - And of course the classic, rubbish teams beating top teams / top teams losing to awful teams. EVERYONE who knows managerzone even half well, knows of these problems. And these problems within the sim are NOT new and not the PRIMARY concern from myself. >>> PROGRESS IS MY CONCERN. <<< IT HAS BEEN 5 YEARS !!! These problems are NOT new !!!!!. These are the same problems MZ had 5 years ago and they have STILL NOT BEEN SORTED. Countless new sims have been implamented, new features, player appearance, friendly leagues, enhanced 3D graphics, notes, ALL these extra things have been added and yet they have not fully corrected one of these main sim problems that has plagued this game from the beginning. The progress the MZ team have made since 2006 is so ridiculously small that many online football games have made greater progress within 1 year, where as MZ has made less in 5. The MZ sim has not stepped up its game in over 5 years and there looks to be no sign of change. When I rejoined I noticed a decrease in active members of over 100 thousand. This is only going to continue further. So what is the point in the post ? Two things : 1 to ask, for your benefit, because I will not be sticking around here again, when are these FUNDIMENTAL SIMULATOR FLAWS going to be addressed? 2 to WARN both MZ users and the MZ staff. This is nearing the end. Rapid decrease in active users, massive decrease in updates ( compared to a few years back ) more advertising on site ( showing MZ milking a dieing cash cow ) and a general burst of progress within other football games and simulations ( look at the latest fifa games, look at pro evolution soccer and football manager ) This is nearing the end because IF the next 5 years show the same HORRENDOUS LACK OF PROGRESS that the past 5 years have....... I can garentee you. MZ will shut down. Think of the graphics, gameplay and managerial games that will be around in 5 years time, fifa 18, football manager 2018 lol think how incredible these games are going to be. This sim currently isn't even as good as LMA manager 2005, and if the progress in the next five years is the same as the last five I don't think it ever will be. So as a mz manager who keeps foolishly returning after 6 years of terrible simulation experiences, I can promise you this my fellow managers. Unless these guys start making some serious progress around here in the next year. You would be STUPID to continue to invest YOUR time and money into this. Because judging by the amount of active managers and dodgy sim glitches it won't be around much longer after that. If you like me, have spent years on here waiting for progress that just never comes. In the 5 years since I first EVER joined MZ every single problem with the sim is still here.
5 YEARS !!! And there is STILL :
- Strikers passing backwards or horizontally in OBVIOUS goalscoring territory.
- All players REGARDLESS of skills struggling to control passes given to them.
- A seemingly non-existant effect from the passing attribute.
- Rigid, lifeless, unrealistic animations for dribbling, running, celebrations and kicking.
- Rigid, unlogical, gameplay with simulation players showing VERY LITTLE play intelligence ( AGAIN regardless of PI stats )
- Keepers saving incredible strikes and making ridiculous close up saves from 1-1 situations.
- ALSO keepers then LET IN shots that are aimed directly at them, EVEN going through them !!!
- Strikers seem to have NO indication of intelligence when choosing were to place the ball when shooting.
- Tactics set up on the tactics page eg: pressing, aggressive etc, seem to have minimal effective on teams in the lower leagues.

is that the answer then ?? dont worry about who you buy what tactics you use, so long as i have more shots on goal is all that counts. BULLSHITE. I'm not saying its the majority of matches but it is certainly higher than RL football. And not only are there ridiculous loses in which teams had 70% of possession and 5x more shots but having more posession and more shots IS NOT a relative analysis as to what makes teams win games. Regardless neither of these points address the concerns I bring up about "progress" [i]- i believe the result of the game is in the database before the 3d sim is generated ....the game then does its best to create a 3d of the game based[/i] I do not know for certain whether thats true but I think your right. The game is played and then the 3D visualization of it is added to best show what actually happened. However that would only account for some sloppy animations, glitches unusual ball control. BUT the main problems,( and when I refer to main problems I mean the really illogical decisions and events, passing back after having dribbled past the keeper in front of an open goal, players constantly running to the ball destination and not to the ball itself allowing countless ridiculous intercepts, very little effect from the different tactics used etc etc I could go on ... ) Any as I was saying the main problems, those illogical things, are still seen in the 2D visualizer. They are still happening in the written match reports and the 2D visualizer its just they aren't as obviously insane as when you view them in 3D. The problem is in the SIM not the 3D. I do not know for certain whether thats true but I think your right.
The game is played and then the 3D visualization of it is added to best show what actually happened.

apps ? Just fix the obvious first #1 the passing ability is just plain borning . How many times can a lofted pass go directly to an opponent ?. In 1 game only every single lofted ball forward went directly to the opposition who now can header to a team mate every single time without fail. Your right in 1 apsect you CANNOT watch the game in 3D because its simply adnauseumapps ?

Just fix the obvious first

The key problem with the sim is that it does not reflect football. Tactics that work or do not are a matter of guess work. Plus people need to spend years developing teams that have high skill players, then at the drop of a hat and with no warning change the sim to make it worse and not reflect the skills people have focused on in relation to the previous sim. As a whole, the way to be successful with the game is to have no youths and save money before buying good players. So the games on financial structure destroys itself.The key problem with the sim is that it does not reflect football. Tactics that work or do not are a matter of guess work. Plus people need to spend years developing teams that have high skill players, then at the drop of a hat and with no warning change the sim to make it worse and not reflect the skills people have focused on in relation to the previous sim.

i started playing this game back then when the 3d was available only with pay. i left and came back for the third time and every single time i left i did it because of the unrealistic match results. last time i got hugely dissapointed when leading the 3 rd division,my paid paid club membership finished,and suddenly my team's form as well .. it's so obvious that club members enjoy the secret form advantage. great game,great possibilities tough.i started playing this game back then when the 3d was available only with pay.

The only thing I don't like about the game is "the small team advantage". Ok, you might say it happens in real football, but damn it, the game has no mental training implemented, nor it should be based on luck. The only "advantage" that the smaller teams should have is choosing the right tactic to face the stronger opponent. We should not expect MZ to be levels to CM, Pes or Fifa because this game is free while the other ones cost 60-100 euros. And believe me, this expensive games contain lots of bugs too.The only thing I don't like about the game is "the small team advantage". This is my opinion; I play since more than 3 years and the last 3 seasons Im bored :(( 3 seasons ago I win easily in div3 with unrealistic scores. then I went up to division 2 and lost everything. What is incomprehensive regarding my results in div3. Now Im back in div3 and again I win my first match with 0-9 and the following matches are looking to be the same as my competitors team value is very low. What does this means? To good to be in div3 and too bad to be in div2. There is something wrong with the sim I agree. The idea of apps I'm in completely. Can really attract a lot of new potential players and maybe the existing one more active!This is my opinion;

I agree, they should start to [b]reduce the lottery/ruffle factor[/b] - even if there are all the time teams/managers, that are happy cause they have their winning time! [u]Better the Sim puts more attention to the player´s skills[/u] - [b]maybe reducing the value of high-skills[/b] (especially 10), as they did some seasons ago, [b]was a mistak[/b]e!? [b][color=blue]Better skilled teams are losing too often against weaker teams[/color][/b] (as NCA I can see the player´s balls [i][:D] sry, don´t know why that´s funny :))[/i] [b][color=gray][u]And that cannot only be explained with the tactic-adjustments[/u].[/color][/b]

To good to be in div3 and too bad to be in div2. There is something wrong with the sim I agree.

I agree, they should start to reduce the lottery/ruffle factor - even if there are all the time teams/managers, that are happy cause they have their winning time!
Better the Sim puts more attention to the player´s skills
- maybe reducing the value of high-skills (especially 10), as they did some seasons ago, was a mistake!?

Better skilled teams are losing too often against weaker teams
(as NCA I can see the player´s balls sry, don´t know why that´s funny :))

And that cannot only be explained with the tactic-adjustments.

I have no problem with the 2D sim, I actually like it. Reminds of the Sensible Soccer game some 20 years ago ;) It might be nostalgia speaking. There are certainly improvements to be made, but may I remind everyone that programming a sim is a never ending mountain of work! As for the 3D sim... I watched it one time and it almost made me puke, it is VERY bad. My suggestion to MZ is to just drop the 3D bit and improve the game overall. If someone really wants to watch 3D, they'll buy some of the commercial football manager sims available for various platforms.I have no problem with the 2D sim, I actually like it. Look i've just come back. I see two very clear problems with the game. 1) This STUPID IDIOTIC MORONIC! 3 for player rule. It's a game. Should be able to add anyone u want to your team. 2) Tax on transfers. If a new player wants to spend his time buying and selling players for profit to quickley make a good team. He should be able to do this. The ones that say no are the ones not willing to spend the time. fine cry like a baby. 1) not really a stupid rule. Its been opened up to 8 or 9 in hockey and now the big countries with heaps of money dominate and there is nothing we can do. 2) give it a go, I bet you can't add a lot of value to a player so quickly that the high tax (95% within 5 weeks) would bother you.

I am exactly the same as you...returning again after even longer in the game..... The sim does frustrate me but it tries to simulate which isnt always obviously real. The main concern for me isnt the sim.........its the things it reveals. There is NO play intelligence whatsoever and I even heard it is a redundant stat ( not working ). The sim is revealing major bugs and problems with the actual gameplay. For example I have a team of 10 ballers in div 3. Long since bored of losing every CRUCIAL league winning match for over 4 years I stuck out my team of 2 ball 16 year old youths. Who knew they were good enough to draw with division 3 teams!
