With the start of the new season and the beginning of this season's MZUSA Federation's friendly league series, here is the newest place for managers from the USA to check in with each other, seek advice, discuss the game or seek encouraging words after discouraging results. Also found here can be discussions of National Cups and the national team. The national team also has its own thread in MZ Talk. Use this forum well and welcome to the community.

Below are the table for the latest round of the MZUSA Federations Friendly League series. If you'd like to join in the next round post on this thread and you will be added to the waiting list.

@stonn - Sorry about that, not sure how that happened as you were on the list to get invites. I will add you again to the waitlist for next season.

MZUSA Friendly League series update: 1 spot left in A, all others full. Hoping to start the leagues next week.

Hey guys... I just realized that I'm signed up for both the C and D league!
I used to be in the C league.

If it helps anyone else in a waiting list you guys can perhaps drop me from the D. Otherwise I don't mind playing it. Probably have a better chance of winning something huh:-)

Hey @3

I saw and invite a few weeks back in my guestbook regarding an interfede spain/Romania. Was that the league your were talking about? I didn't see any other invite...

Yes, that's the international federations cup that they started putting together a while ago. I think it might still be open for joining if you haven't yet.

We have been invited by FINMZ (International Federation of Managerzone, based in Brazil) to have our federation champion take part in their World Club Cup. I figure that would be the winner of the A League. Anyone have thoughts on this or opposition to providing the name of the winner to partake in this Cup?

Re: MZUSA Federation #8

Sounds great. Yes, definitely the winner of A League should be the team to go.

Second.

Re: MZUSA Federation #8

I think that is a good idea as well. Are we doing any type of relegations for these el leagues? How does it work?

Somehow I'm doing better in the C league than in the D league!

Re: MZUSA Federation #8

im guessing the D league coordinator invited you by accident.

There is typically promotion and relegation of 3 teams per league, but sometimes the numbers are higher on promotions and lower on relegation as spots open up in the higher leagues. If there are teams which drop out of a higher league usually an extra team is promoted. If there are multiple drop outs then the relegation number is reduced.

Currently there is no relegation from the D League as we have enough trouble filling that league without eliminating willing participants.

MZ is looking to get numbers for the members of various federations. Not sure the best way to quote our numbers. Perhaps 4x16 plus 4 or 5? Does that seem reasonable to people? I know we don't have that many regular visitors to the forum thread, but I think if you're participating in the friendly league series you should be counted as a member at least in spirit. Not sure what if any benefits there will be to official federation status but the MZUSA Federation has been around for quite a while so we might as well have it made official. Thoughts?

I would claim around 70 members, and do whatever necessary to cement our federation's official status

Re: MZUSA Federation #8

Erik....I would use the minimum of 4x16. Not sure how much participation we will get from the current membership because the new federation program Crew is going to introduce will have a one time charge for the creator of the federation, and for members to join up to 3 different federations.

Benefits??? I am not sure, other than our own WFO page, leagues to be using something similar to the 'extra leagues', and better tools for setting up the competitions.

Hmmm. Shows I haven't been around the Admin forum enough lately. I'll have to bop over there and check out things and then bring back more info.

Re: MZUSA Federation #8

Where is this Admin forum at? Is it public for view? I would like to know more details about what they are coming up for updates and such and seems that may be the best way to find out.

Unfortunately the admin is not open to all users. However, things that are close to development/implementation are usually brought to forth in the ManagerZone Talk forum.

I was in the MZUSA federations golden era in like 2003 :P We had 5 different region specific league and a pretty epic website. But I am seeing improvements recently. Forest Fire and others are doing a really good job helping to keep it all going. We owe them a big thanks.
