The Assistant Structure

President
ManagerZone Assistants are daily contributing to the success of our game, making the community stronger and the game fair and fun.

Assistants are organized in roles:

HMA - Head Master Assistant: Ideally the most experienced assistants in the team. HMAs, alongside Crew, takes part in deciding which regions need extra MA(s), who should become MA, and if an MA isn’t fulfilling their role, to remove them.
The HMAs are also the persons to turn to whenever you have a personal complaint about an MA or have received a complaint about an MA. The HMA’s are also divided into specific roles of which they take care.

Current Head MAs per role are:
mikelony (Spain) in charge of Support
realcipri (Romania) in charge of Investigations & Suspensions
c_c (Argentina) in charge of FA’s
agapitod (France) in charge of RA’s
damcio (Poland)in charge of LA’s

If you want to contact them and don't want to do it in this forum, get in contact with them via guestbook.

MA – Master Assistant: The MAs are the head assistants for their task, country or region. They decide whether to add new assistants and to remove those that don’t follow the rules stated in this or other official assistant documents. They are the persons that you as an assistant should turn to when you have question or anything to report. The MAs may ask HMAs/Crew for help. When in doubts, xAs should refer to their MAs for consultations.

GA – Game Assistant: The Game assistants are responsible for support in the Community, which means being the first point of contact for ManagerZone users in case of need or when they report suspicious behaviour from other players. GAs are also responsible for assuring the community that the game is controlled and the cheating episodes are handled in the fairest possible way and in accordance with the rules.

FA – Forum Assistant: The FAs have the specific task of maintaining friendly and polite communications in the Forum. They are the first line of contact and should be the most visible xA’s in the open community.

LA – Translator: The LAs are the members of the xA structure in charge of translating the game and the news in each supported language.

RA – Reporter: RAs are in charge of releasing a periodical magazine – The Zone - to inform the community on news, updates & events worth mentioning.

All xAs needs to accept the xA agreement and to follow the content of the Codes of Conduct in place. The code of conduct describes each xA role.

To handle Support tasks the Game Assistants are divided in 2 separate groups:

The first group is the I&S (Investigations & Suspensions) group. I&S are the Game Assistants that will research the market, suspend the users who do not follow our rules and are as such the experts on the markets of ManagerZone and the detection of cheating. I&S is a team that works on a global level. They will handle all the reports you make to them in every part of the world.
To contact I&S it suffices to mail one of the Game Assistants part of this group, to use the MU topic or to do so via help@managerzone.on.spiceworks.com. An email sent to this address will generate a ticket for the Investigation team.
GMAs in charge: leonferni2, rolf85, phigas3

The second group are the Support agents. These xA’s are also identified on ManagerZone as Game Assistants but handle requests from users via the tool called Request-Tracker. Our agents are the contactpersons for our users. They handle the questions asked via Request-Tracker and also the appeals against decisions made by I&S.
If you want to contact Request-Tracker you can do this via the tab Help -> Support. You can create a ticket there and an agent will answer as soon as possible. Other option is to mail the @managerzone.com mailbox of a country. This will also create a ticket at Request-Tracker for agents to handle. Request-Tracker supports 13 languages and these languages alone, so please advise your users to contact us only in one of these: French, Dutch, English, Romanian, Turkish, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Polish, Swedish, Chinese, Italian and Russian.
SMAs in charge: blackcats, xente, vamazan

Re: New Assistant Structure

Wow I thought Australia was in Asia. When did it float all the way to Europe? I bet the natives are pissed with the colder climate!

Re: New Assistant Structure

Badge image
It is clearly an outrageous attempt to assimilate Australia into the Eurozone. With our bountiful mining resources and strong dollar we would undoubtedly stabilise the entire region.

I can already imagine those great European leaders discussing it. And, of course, the first thing they will bring up is "you know Australia are already part of the MZ West European Support. It is a logical next step in the process".

Well we strongly object to this, although the thought of being further away from New Zealand is a tempting one :P

Next phase was actually to geographically move the country on the MZ map next to Scotland and building a brigde between both countries or an under water tunnel :p

Lets just say the English support is integrated into the Western European Zone.
They do appear to speak English don't they :p

Re: New Assistant Structure

Badge image
Geographically we're Oceania or our own continent, Football wise were Asian, when it comes to video game releases we're european... and now MZ wise we're bundled in with the United Kingdom? That couldn't be further away from Australia if it tried???

Btw, Silver, where are we to find the other regions and new xMAs?

Re: New Assistant Structure

brilliant chelsea and khan, definitely made me laugh.

Strange that an English HRA has to report to an Austrian MA instead of puppy still being in charge as he does a great job managing HRAs and RAs for his region.

Re: New Assistant Structure

We had a few MA's and gave them a choice which part they'd like to be in charge of. Puppy chose the GA part so somebody else had to take over the RA's. Sebbel will prove to be a good guy here. Don't let language or country of origin block you guys in giving somebody a fair chance to lead.

@civilu: We'll update the topic on the adminforum step-by-step adding all regions when they are introduced and fully functional. Think that give or take 2 - 3 regions we are about there.

Towards the users we'll always create a topic introducing the new structure. Other ways to inform people will have to come from crew who'll need to create some page where this info can be stored or who'll need to do some coding here and there.

As for Canada. The main languages are French and English. Both of them are handled by the Western European Region so added them here.

US has a spanish userbase so they'll probably go to a Spanish support. That will give the best feedback via supportmail towards the users.

Re: New Assistant Structure

I like the support set-up

I'm slightly more concered about the RA setup as unlike central support, each Zone has different methods of working, getting articles and putting them together.

A support that doesn't understand a particular magazine or done differently to they way they may do their own could cause some conflicts which may have a negative affect on the development of that specific zone.

Re: New Assistant Structure

We aren't disallowing people to appoint somebody as HRA (Head-RA) for a certain magazine like eg the UKI Zone or Be-Ne Zone. Those guys are then appointed the task to make sure the magazine is published, etc. The RMA will follow up on RA's actually doing something as well as appointing/removing them if needed.

Re: New Assistant Structure

Badge image
Well for example if I was HRA again while this new structure came into place I'd make it clear I wouldn't answer to anyone else than puppy no matter what anyone said even him as he knows TEZ, TZA, TUKIZ, etc and has always known them. Who the hell is this new guy I'm supposed to report to and to say it's a simple fact of language and country not being a problem is a little blind-sighted. I wouldn't let this new bloke boss me about one bit and the end of the day, HRA is a pain in the arse to do with little payback and crap all appreciation in relation to the effort put in. Not even close to on par!
A new MA comes in and starts bossing about what should be done, see ya!

Re: New Assistant Structure

Badge image
Badge image
[BNL]

Nobody said anything about bossing around. Pretty negative connotation here. MA or xMA functions have always been about supervision and taking action when things aren't working as they should.

If there are no problems then the MA and in this case new xMA doesn't really need to boss around anybody. He'll of course try and work together with the HRA's, and RA's.

And I'm sorry Jay but this is the new course the xA's will need to follow and well if you were for example HRA and wouldn't work in this new structure then you would, for example, not really be HRA for long ;-).
Having said that any criticism that will help in improving things is always welcome.

Re: New Assistant Structure

One considers this a sad reflection of the shortage of credible xA candidates in some countries. I don't understand why else there would be such change made to a system that has largely worked absolutely fine for what, 10 years or thereabouts? Particularly with FAs and RAs... FMA? 99% of FA work, if done by someone with an ounce of sense, is routine. Unless standards have slipped vastly, my memory of operating in what was a much more active time (and one in which martin was active), was that to have to consult anyone higher even once a week would be unusual. They barely need training: "These are the buttons you use, engage your common sense and away you go". RMA? I kinda read like an indictment of the troubles some countries have with their Zones in these days of disinterest and dwindling membership. Sad really. Feels like a marked step back, the sort of structure that would be needed in a start-up game in it's early stages :(

Hi everybody, i'm coming here to tell you that we've made few changes and we've added 3 news GAs in our region.

Leto2626 from Belgium and Doc-b from The Netherlands have been became GAs for soccer and Demis27 from Switzerland has been became Ga for hockey.

Thank's a lot to them to have accepted our proposition and welcome in our team.

Re: New Assistant Structure

IMO the was truck all wrong with the old system and was in no need of a revamp. But that is of course, my opinion and I believe is something aint broken why the pluck would you fix it?

Overall a shortage of xA's, GA status being perceived as more important then other xA work, the knowledge of MA's over all xA functions, the cohesion between xA's internationally, a unified way of working and perhaps some things I'm missing.

Re: New Assistant Structure

I can only liken this to trips to the supermarket. For no good reason from time to time they'll just move everything around as part of a revamp.

Thats because they want you to run around the market and buy things you wouldn't have noticed otherwise and aren't on your list :p. Ok so we want you to notice there are other xA's then the English ones, you got us ;-).

Seems to me that outside of Spanish speaking countries, 90% of every popluation speaks English, well at least poor English. Why not just have one group with a spanish branch? Also, it eeems that by moving and grouping countries with the idea of language in mind, you have seen fit to somehow make less sense of an already non-sensical operation.

Canada will quickly prove itself as a leader in the newly marrie...formed WES and it will kick Australia back to where it deserves to be (at the bottom of the world? :D).

Considering the rivalry between those two countries in MZ (and not only!?), who in his right mind would put those two together? I can see smoke coming out not so far in the future.

Some xMA changes in the The Western European Support need to be announced,

First of all Peter (wanttostrokemypuppy) will be stepping down as xA. I regret having to inform you all about this since it has really been my pleasure to be working with Peter for a pretty long time now. A very good FA at start, an even better GA, a great MA, a superb HMA and GMA but above all the best of colleagues and friend.
Sadly enough he couldn't find the time any longer to fulfill the GMA tasks. I'll take the opportunity to thank Peter very much for all he's done for MZ.

Of course this also means that we'll need to replace Peter on the Game Assistants side of the xA's. We'll do that by moving Thomas (hackentrixxer) towards that position. He's got a lot of experience as GA and MA for the German region so no doubt that he's a very good replacement for Peter.

Like I said we'll be moving Thomas so another position becomes vacant. Thomas was LMA for our region and will be replaced by Stijn (stijn) . So the Language Assistants will be having a new 'boss' to turn to as well. Stijn is a pretty long serving LA for the Dutch language and will use that experience to help the other LA where needed with their job.

A warm, well you can't call it welcome, so let's say applause to the both of them and I hope they can both help us out for a long time.

Informing you guys about a change in the xMA staff is both a sad and joyful thing.
A sad thing because it most of the times means that we will be losing a valuable addition to your group but a joyful thing because we can give a new promising xA the change to prove himself.

And thats what is happening on the LMA spot of the Western European Regio now.
Stijn recently told us he no longer has the time to continue as LMA and will therefore be replaced by wilbor.

I want to thank Stijn very much for the work he has done and would also like to congratulate wilbor with his new function.

This... what... I... wth... I was assured this was all tied up and that I was as good as in. I paid the right people off, threatened those who wouldn't take the money... it was a done deal... I demand a recount!

Good luck to hackentrixxer as (interim) HMA/GPA/PGA/WWF (or whatever the position is), I suppose a "Thanks" wouldn't be out of place either, since it is a big role to commit to :)
