Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Varinderjeet Dwivedi made the kick off which started today's match. In the 4thth minute of the game Rich Mcquinn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 India's Gunamaya Lachenpa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arcat Kapoor kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, U21 Australia's Rich Mcquinn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gunamaya Lachenpa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Varinderjeet Dwivedi managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 India's supporters rose to their feet, but Varinderjeet Dwivedi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Niles Mealmaker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Norman Crane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Gunamaya Lachenpa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, U21 India's goal looked a bit too open when Rich Mcquinn came free, but Gunamaya Lachenpa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th match minute, U21 Australia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malcolm Hess to maneuver through the defense. Malcolm Hess's late challenge caught a U21 India's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Malcolm Hess helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to U21 Australia getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Malcolm Hess hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rich Mcquinn in the 38th minute of play forced U21 India's goalkeeper Gunamaya Lachenpa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute U21 Australia were awarded a corner. Dani Heys went to the cornerflag to take it. 40 minutes into the game, Ralph Trims was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Australia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 India the free kick. After a rather tough play, U21 Australia's Ralph Trims got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 42ndth minute of the game Varinderjeet Dwivedi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Australia's Niles Mealmaker was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 44 played minutes U21 India got a freekick which was hit by Divyendu Sihota. After 46 played minutes U21 Australia got a freekick which was hit by Dani Heys. Niles Mealmaker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natarajan Chahil, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rich Mcquinn to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Akila Gaikwad during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 56 played minutes U21 India got a freekick which was hit by Akila Gaikwad. Niles Mealmaker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natarajan Chahil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute, Rich Mcquinn fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gunamaya Lachenpa, passed just outside the right post. Niles Mealmaker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natarajan Chahil, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Dani Heys sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. U21 Australia made a substitution. Bruno Phasey replaced Benny Fitton. U21 Australia's Karl Dillon was substituted for Dani Heys. The referee gave U21 India a penalty, 72 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Arcat Kapoor, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of U21 Australia's Niles Mealmaker. 1-0. U21 India's Kundan Toor was substituted for Davindar Patel. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Australia's goalkeeper Niles Mealmaker, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 80th minute, Isvasa Sekhon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atasa Heer struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Niles Mealmaker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 India. If Natarajan Chahil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
