The audience thought a goal was coming when Ernst Søfren got free with Vladimir Shcherba in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aake Greding's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 19thth minute, Vladimir Shcherba skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Benny Gulfelt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kastus Sushinsky in the 22nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Anders Makelainen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vladimir Shcherba was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Vladimir Shcherba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anders Makelainen's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. In the 97th minute U21 Denmark were awarded a corner. Gregorius Nordenbro went to the cornerflag to take it. U21 Denmark's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gregorius Nordenbro in the 99th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. U21 Denmark had won after a very even match.
