Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 82nd minute Ján Tasler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quique Verdu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ujo Imro made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Jacinto Torrent sent off a good shot on target. Quique Verdu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cyryl Thessalonikios, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ujo Imro made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when J.J I sent off a good shot on target. 91 minutes into the match, U21 Slovakia's goal looked a bit too open when J.J I came free, but Ujo Imro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The U21 Slovakia supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching U21 Spain's performance. The match ended with a win for U21 Spain.
