A collision led to U21 Canada getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Trey Hough hit a great ball. Teobaldo Macias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elbert Trimble in the 19th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clarence Yu during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 20 played minutes U21 Canada got a freekick which was hit by Clarence Yu. 21 minutes into the match, U21 Canada's goal looked a bit too open when Imanol Carlos came free, but Theron Hammons reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Argentina's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Leandro Pancho in the 23rd minute. Leandro Pancho made a great header on U21 Argentina's corner, it was just that U21 Canada's Theron Hammons managed to reach the ball for a save. Theron Hammons took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Imanol Carlos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gaston Indalecio got free with Theron Hammons in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 41st minute Imanol Carlos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theron Hammons saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Javier Pastore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gaston Indalecio to strike the kick off in the second half. Theron Hammons made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Indalecio in the 51st minute of play. U21 Argentina's Teobaldo Macias proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save U21 Argentina from getting a goal against them. 57 minutes into the match, U21 Canada's goal looked a bit too open when Imanol Carlos came free, but Theron Hammons reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Argentina's Emiliano Cisco was substituted for Javier Pastore. U21 Argentina's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Leandro Pancho in the 59th minute. Theron Hammons came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Argentina's Imanol Carlos. But to his dismay, Imanol Carlos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. U21 Canada made a substitution. Bobby Delong replaced Clarence Yu. 66 minutes into the match, U21 Canada's goal looked a bit too open when Gaston Indalecio came free, but Theron Hammons reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Theron Hammons took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Imanol Carlos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Prospero Pero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Theron Hammons tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Darrin Robert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Canada made a substitution. Dillon Smith replaced Trey Hough. 74 minutes into the game, Prospero Pero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Theron Hammons was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alain Delon in the 78th minute of play forced U21 Argentina's goalkeeper Teobaldo Macias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. U21 Argentina had played much better football throughout.
