The audience thought a goal was coming when Controller Atom got free with Surinderjit Nijjar in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Anjuli Mukherjee's late challenge caught a Romania's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anjuli Mukherjee helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to India getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Anjuli Mukherjee hit a great ball. Controller Atoms short, quick shot in the 47thth minute got Surinderjit Nijjar to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With his leg Surinderjit Nijjar managed to avoid a goal in the 47thth minute, when Romania's Controller Atom fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.

Romania's Iurie Pescaru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Romania from getting a goal against them. Iurie Pescaru made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Kinjata Sangha sent off a good shot on target. Jayadev Bhachu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Iurie Pescaru when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 85 minutes of play, Romania's Controller Atom made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Surinderjit Nijjar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Romania made a substitution. Ciprian Cunea replaced Dinu Pâslaru. Surinderjit Nijjar came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Romania's Controller Atom. But to his dismay, Controller Atom quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Controller Atom put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Surinderjit Nijjar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kinjata Sangha got free with Iurie Pescaru in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
