Beltxe Gaviria blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz having to make a save. When the match clock showed 41 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Beltxe Gaviria sped through Germany's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz. In the 46th minute Roano Cuello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Timo Heller made a kick off.
