Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Miguel Schwyzer made the kick off and thus started the match. Vladan Navrátil kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Hilarius Gregg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jiří Zídek was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. In the 7th minute, Hilarius Gregg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jiří Zídek was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladan Navrátil in the 10th minute of play forced Switzerland's goalkeeper Handi Gottesman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Handi Gottesman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Radek Šmerda, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hilarius Gregg in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jiří Zídek saved Czech Republic from getting behind. Jiří Kaleja might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Handi Gottesman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jiří Kaleja ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 28th minute of the match Czech Republic got a corner. Switzerland's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Miloš Absolon ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Miloš Absolon almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Switzerland's Handi Gottesman did a great save. In the 31st minute, Vladan Navrátil made a precise shot to the right of Handi Gottesman. Switzerland's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Schwyzer in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jiří Zídek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Handi Gottesman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rostislav Hejč in the 43rd minute.
Handi Gottesman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radek Šmerda in the 51st minute of play. Handi Gottesman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radek Šmerda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Handi Gottesman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karel Tkadlec, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 56th minute Miguel Schwyzer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jiří Zídek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Switzerland's Jason Statham pulled a muscle in his leg after 62 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 62 minutes into the game, Rostislav Hejč was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Czech Republic's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Switzerland the free kick. Rostislav Hejč hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Handi Gottesman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavel Borovský, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 91 minutes into the match, Radek Šmerda notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Switzerland's Handi Gottesman. Handi Gottesman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Handi Gottesman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavel Borovský, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Switzerland's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
