When Sebastian Jewson fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Senegal's protests and gave Sebastian Jewson a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, U21 Senegal's Sebastian Jewson got a free kick in the 3rd minute. 6 minutes into the match, U21 Senegal's goal looked a bit too open when Illja Pisnyi came free, but Leo Baxter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Illja Pisnyi came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the U21 Ukraine fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Illja Pisnyi couldn't finish the play. 9 minutes into the match, U21 Ukraine's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Love came free, but Lyubomyr Zhelikhovskyj reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mykyta Matyash in the 11th minute of play forced U21 Senegal's goalkeeper Leo Baxter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute, Sammy Longden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Illja Pisnyi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Leo Baxter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The U21 Ukraine fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when U21 Ukraine's Mykyta Matyash looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Shaun Coulson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lyubomyr Zhelikhovskyj read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute Mykyta Matyash shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Baxter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Illja Pisnyi in the 28th minute of play forced U21 Senegal's goalkeeper Leo Baxter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Illja Pisnyi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Artem Lazarchuk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. U21 Ukraine's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lev Zadorozhnyi in the 39th minute. U21 Ukraine's Lev Zadorozhnyi was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Leo Baxter in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Leo Baxter came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Ukraine's Mykyta Matyash. But to his dismay, Mykyta Matyash quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Shaun Coulson to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mykyta Matyash got free with Leo Baxter in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience thought a goal was coming when Illja Pisnyi got free with Leo Baxter in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Shaun Coulson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Lyubomyr Zhelikhovskyj tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lev Zadorozhnyi kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. U21 Ukraine's Platon Volodjko was substituted for Roman Ivashko. After a rather tough play, U21 Ukraine's Lev Zadorozhnyi got a free kick in the 67th minute. Leo Baxter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mykyta Matyash in the 72nd minute of the match. Benjamin Love scored 1-2 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lyubomyr Zhelikhovskyj, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. U21 Senegal's Leo Baxter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Senegal from getting a goal against them. Vasyl Chumachenko came free with the goalkeeper in the 80th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Leo Baxter could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, U21 Ukraine's Symon Lobanovsjkyi got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 85thth minute of the game Mykyta Matyash who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Senegal's Leo Baxter was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of U21 Senegal booed when U21 Ukraine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasyl Chumachenko didn't get a good kick on the ball. U21 Senegal's Leo Baxter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Senegal from getting a goal against them. Sebastian Jewson was shown his second yellow card after 88 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 88th minute, Sebastian Jewson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vasyl Chumachenko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Leo Baxter made a huge save. U21 Ukraine's Mykyta Matyash got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Vasyl Chumachenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
