The corner led U21 Senegal's Freddy Way to fire away a dangerous shot which Jens Veidal despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 12th match minute, U21 Senegal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Jewson to maneuver through the defense. Vincent Rawson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Frede Wentli showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. A collision led to U21 Denmark getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Thue Sørige hit a great ball. In the 15th minute, U21 Denmark's Thue Sørige fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Vincent Rawson was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. Thue Sørige blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vincent Rawson having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thue Sørige got free with Vincent Rawson in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vincent Rawson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Thue Sørige took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Vincent Rawson to make any attempt to save it. Thue Sørige fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vincent Rawson having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thue Sørige to make the kick off. In the 54th minute U21 Denmark were awarded a corner. Thue Sørige went to the cornerflag to take it. Fábio Cannavaro was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Vincent Rawson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thue Sørige, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute Frede Wentli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincent Rawson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rdth minute of the game Thue Sørige who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Senegal's Vincent Rawson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Thue Sørige's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vincent Rawson was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. U21 Denmark walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
