The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciro Baptista got free with Ilir Trpevski in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rubinho Faustino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trim Bardhi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nando Trigo in the 85th minute of play forced Macedonia's goalkeeper Ilir Trpevski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maxim Trifunov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Rubinho Faustino made a huge save. 95 minutes into the match, Brazil's goalkeeper Rubinho Faustino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maxim Trifunov. The Macedonia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Macedonia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
