In the 4th minute, England's Fred Ljungberg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Fred Ljungberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Teddy Sheridan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 16th minute, Duncan Chambers reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Teddy Sheridan. The goal made the score 2-0. Garth Gunn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bressail McIan, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After 21 played minutes England got a freekick which was hit by Duncan Chambers. Garth Gunn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peadair McDonald in the 22nd minute of play. Garth Gunn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Bayes, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute, Leon Gallagher ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Garth Gunn was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. A collision led to Ireland getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Joe Burke hit a great ball. Fred Ljungberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Teddy Sheridan made a huge save. Garth Gunn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Gallagher in the 40th minute of the match. Garth Gunn came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ireland's Peter Bayes. But to his dismay, Peter Bayes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Bressail McIan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fred Ljungberg to make the kick off. Teddy Sheridan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fred Ljungberg in the 53rd minute of the match. After taking down the ball on England's corner Gregory Beckford fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Teddy Sheridan quite easily take care of the ball. 56 minutes into the game, Bressail McIan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Garth Gunn. Bressail McIan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. In the 70th minute Peter Bayes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garth Gunn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ireland's zone, Loyd Garnett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teddy Sheridan came out of the goal and Loyd Garnett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ireland's Bardon McNamee was substituted for Bressail McIan. England's Luke Owen was substituted for Duncan Chambers. England made a substitution. Leigh Theakston replaced Fred Ljungberg. Ireland's Eoghan McPhil was substituted for Bowen Gillmour. Leon Gallagher succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-4 in the 76th playminute. In the 80th minute Leigh Theakston shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teddy Sheridan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ireland's goalie and right to Denny Ellis. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ireland's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Teddy Sheridan came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by England's Loyd Garnett. But to his dismay, Loyd Garnett quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. Garth Gunn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peadair McDonald in the 90th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Peter Bayes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Garth Gunn was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Teddy Sheridan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loyd Garnett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ireland's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
