In the 20th minute Fares El-Shater shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bayan Yase saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fares El-Shater sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Ismail Nizar advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-1 in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wael Gomaa in the 45th minute of play forced Philippines's goalkeeper Bayan Yase to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Bayan Yase managed to avoid a goal in the 62ndth minute, when Egypt's Fares El-Shater fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Bayan Yase showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wael Gomaa, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Romel Joson during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 66 played minutes Philippines got a freekick which was hit by Romel Joson. Bayan Yase took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wael Gomaa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Egypt booed when Philippines was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bugoy Bengco didn't get a good kick on the ball.
