Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) In the 2nd minute Dimitris Grigorakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alan Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Brazil's Alan Loyola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dimitris Grigorakis in the 2nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kostas Tomaras during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th minute, Kostas Tomaras hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Carlos Severo in the 11th minute of play forced U21 Greece's goalkeeper Fanis Kokkinias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Panos Zindros's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Alan Loyola firmly grabbed it by the left post. 17 minutes into the match, U21 Brazil's goal looked a bit too open when Panos Zindros came free, but Alan Loyola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alan Loyola made an important save on a dangerous shot by Loukas Matsinopoulos in the 21st minute. Alan Loyola made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Panagiotis Dentzas sent off a good shot on target. Panagiotis Dentzas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Alan Loyola made a huge save. Alan Loyola stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Panos Zindros's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd minute of the match U21 Greece got a corner. U21 Brazil's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kostas Tomaras ran over to the corner to take the kick. After having played for 36 minutes, João Carlos Severo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Brazil's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Carlos Severo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. U21 Brazil's Luís Gustavo Teles was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fanis Kokkinias in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Fanis Kokkinias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Carlos Severo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, U21 Brazil's Alan Loyola got control of the ball when Panagiotis Dentzas tried to sneak it across the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fábio Lopez made a kick off. Fragiskos Bougatsakis kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fábio Lopez in the 53rd minute of play forced U21 Greece's goalkeeper Fanis Kokkinias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th minute, Panagiotis Dentzas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dimitris Grigorakis in the 57th minute of play forced U21 Brazil's goalkeeper Alan Loyola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fábio Lopez got free with Fanis Kokkinias in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 63rd minute Dimitris Grigorakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alan Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fábio Lopez in the 67th minute of play forced U21 Greece's goalkeeper Fanis Kokkinias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panagiotis Dentzas in the 72nd minute of play forced U21 Brazil's goalkeeper Alan Loyola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Fábio Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. U21 Greece's Nikos Chatzoudis was substituted for Panos Zindros. U21 Greece's Alkinoos Koskotas was substituted for Dimitris Grigorakis. 77 minutes into the match, U21 Brazil's goal looked a bit too open when Alkinoos Koskotas came free, but Alan Loyola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fanis Kokkinias made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Fábio Lopez sent off a good shot on target. Alan Loyola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikos Chatzoudis, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 83 minutes into the match, U21 Greece's goalkeeper Fanis Kokkinias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fábio Lopez. 86 minutes into the match, Panagiotis Dentzas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alan Loyola. After 92 minutes of play, U21 Greece's Alkinoos Koskotas made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alan Loyola was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of U21 Brazil booed when U21 Greece was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Loukas Matsinopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Fábio Lopez kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fanis Kokkinias. That made the score 2-1 in the 97 minute of play. There was no doubt that U21 Greece were the better team. U21 Greece's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
