In the 12th minute Viktor Arsenyuk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vadim Bitsadze saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the game, U21 Ukraine's Mefodiy Matlash nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vadim Bitsadze made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. U21 Georgia's Vadim Bitsadze played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Borys Kozyuberda in the 19th minute of play. Vsevolod Onyschenko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Soso Zabelin, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Georgia's goalkeeper Vadim Bitsadze, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 35th minute of the match U21 Ukraine got a corner. U21 Georgia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zakhar Dolotko ran over to the corner to take the kick. 39 minutes into the match, U21 Georgia's goal looked a bit too open when Dmytro Salyuk came free, but Vadim Bitsadze reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 47 played minutes U21 Georgia got a freekick which was hit by Soso Zabelin. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

U21 Georgia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Ukraine the free kick. After a rather tough play, U21 Georgia's Soso Zabelin got a free kick in the 51st minute. Borys Kozyuberda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Vadim Bitsadze made a huge save. U21 Georgia's Dato Tsitsishvili was substituted for Mikhail Londaridze. A collision led to U21 Ukraine getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Viktor Arsenyuk hit a great ball. After some careless play in the U21 Ukraine defense, Lukhum Cholokaev kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vsevolod Onyschenko. The U21 Ukraine fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vsevolod Onyschenko should have stopped the shot. Vsevolod Onyschenko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Taka Torotadze in the 87th minute of the match. In the 88th minute Lukhum Cholokaev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vsevolod Onyschenko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 91st minute, Roman Gogava hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 93 minutes into the match, U21 Georgia's goalkeeper Vadim Bitsadze had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dmytro Salyuk. Khobuli Topnikov kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
