Hungary's supporters crossed their fingers, but András Medgyesi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hungary's Gáspár Bódog proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Hungary from getting a goal against them. Carlos Cousin hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrew Griffiths to make the kick off. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Carlo Incorvaia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Félix Kiss, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Hungary had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
