Thomas Arnaud was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Austria's goalkeeper Tristan Wellnitz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marc-Aurèle Lucot kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Tristan Wellnitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean-Cyrille Combet, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. France's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Romeo Auclair in the 36th minute. Tristan Wellnitz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Romeo Auclair went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Thomas Arnaud took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peer Stocker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julien Laprise made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, France's goal looked a bit too open when Ovidiu Adrian came free, but Thomas Arnaud reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thomas Arnaud showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ovidiu Adrian in the 51st minute of the match. If Peter Pichlmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Arnaud stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Peer Stocker's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Ovidiu Adrian managed to get in a good position for a shot. Austria's supporters rose to their feet, but Ovidiu Adrian was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomas Arnaud breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tristan Wellnitz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sonny Anderson in the 59th minute. Thomas Arnaud made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ovidiu Adrian in the 60th minute of play. When Julien Laprise came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the France fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julien Laprise couldn't finish the play. France's Blaise Deck was substituted for Sonny Anderson. The corner led Austria's Benjamin Joeckel to fire away a dangerous shot which Thomas Arnaud despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ovidiu Adrian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to France getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Marc-Aurèle Lucot hit a great ball. In the 86th minute, Peter Pichlmann left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Austria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. France's Thomas Arnaud played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ovidiu Adrian in the 91st minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
