Spectators: 1028 (Terracing: 772, Seating: 236, VIP seats: 20) Ireland's Bressail McIan started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Peadar Kelly left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ireland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. If Christian Weber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Timo Heller's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brandan McJames was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Birger Krall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peadar Kelly in the 14th minute of play. Ireland's Berrach Dalton got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Weber in the 20th minute of play forced Ireland's goalkeeper Brandan McJames to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Birger Krall had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bressail McIan. Ireland's Brandan McJames played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Umberto Galeski in the 25th minute of play. Peadar Kelly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Birger Krall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the game, Germany's Christian Weber nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Brandan McJames made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Ireland's Braeden Moran quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Fox Breitkopf, made in the 32nd minute of the game. With a little luck, Germany's Birger Krall got control of the ball when Bressail McIan tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Umberto Galeski came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Umberto Galeski couldn't finish the play. After 42 minutes of play, Germany's Timo Heller made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brandan McJames was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Germany's Birger Krall got control of the ball when Bressail McIan tried to sneak it across the goal line.

Germany made a substitution. Herbert Jonasson replaced Timo Heller. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Herbert Jonasson to make the kick off. Birger Krall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peadar Kelly in the 55th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Bressail McIan came free, but Birger Krall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brandan McJames made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herbert Jonasson in the 60th minute of play. Germany's Birger Krall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bressail McIan in the 62nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Peadar Kelly in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Birger Krall prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Birger Krall took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peadar Kelly, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute Peadar Kelly shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Birger Krall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Germany's Cem Räder was substituted for Curt Nonnenbruch. After a rather tough play, Ireland's Alan Prunty got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Ireland's Shey Cassin quite brazenly broke a throw-in by René Klock, made in the 75th minute of the game. Ralf Jürgens got a throw-in 77 minutes in the game and the ball was received by René Klock. Birger Krall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bardon McNamee, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. 80 minutes had been played when some careless play by Germany's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bardon McNamee was slow to take the kick. During this time Ireland's players had a chance to rest. If Bardon McNamee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Germany's Birger Krall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brendanus McMichel in the 89th minute of play. Brandan McJames made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herbert Jonasson in the 90th minute of play. In the 94th minute, Herbert Jonasson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brandan McJames was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Ireland lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
