Xefe Becerril made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karnavira Sodhi in the 21st minute of play. Xefe Becerril showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahlad Dasgupta, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The throw-in from Anjuli Mukherjee in the 26th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Xantalen Silveira. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cefero Urquijo in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Surinderjit Nijjar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Cefero Urquijo put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Surinderjit Nijjar. After 32 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Anudrutta Badyal who took care of the corner kick. Ahlad Dasgupta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Xefe Becerril having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahlad Dasgupta in the 34th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Xefe Becerril to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Peru's Cefero Urquijo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Surinderjit Nijjar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, India's Anjuli Mukherjee got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 44th minute, Ahlad Dasgupta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The India fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After the first half India were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Peru's Xantalen Silveira quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Surinderjit Nijjar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Junior Quintana in the 94th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. India had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
