Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Gabe Batistuta made the kick off which started today's match. Eric Neacșu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juliusz Glogowski in the 10th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Juliusz Glogowski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eric Neacșu was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. 15 minutes into the game, Gabe Batistuta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Poland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Romania the free kick. In the 15th match minute, U21 Poland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabe Batistuta to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute, Dan Cârneci got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 21 minutes into the match, U21 Poland's goal looked a bit too open when Iulian Arnăutu came free, but Bernard Fabiański reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Juliusz Glogowski notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of U21 Romania's Eric Neacșu. Eric Neacșu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gabriel-Omar Batistuta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Bernard Fabiański tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabriel-Omar Batistuta to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, U21 Romania's Ferdinand Burileanu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernard Fabiański narrowly saved just below the crossbar. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over U21 Romania's much stronger midfield.
