In the 11th minute Michal Adam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paddy Galloway saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 13 in the game by João MacDonald from a close distance when the talented Samuel Vomela managed to make a qualified save. Czech Republic's players were relieved. Scotland's Paddy Galloway played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michal Adam in the 19th minute of play. Czech Republic's Samuel Vomela proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Czech Republic from getting a goal against them. Pavel Kutálek struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Paddy Galloway didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Czech Republic. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tomáš Blažej hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Samuel Vomela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugh Ruskin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Czech Republic's zone, João MacDonald stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Vomela came out of the goal and João MacDonald tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Czech Republic's Samuel Vomela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João MacDonald in the 69th minute of play. After having played for 71 minutes, Miles McLardy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scotland's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miles McLardy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Czech Republic defense, Hugh Ruskin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samuel Vomela. The Czech Republic fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samuel Vomela should have stopped the shot. Scotland made a substitution. Malcolm Mennie replaced Ricky McIan. 80 minutes into the game, Scotland's Hugh Ruskin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Samuel Vomela made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Scotland had won after a very even match.
