Leonardo Penagos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Tzocho Yavrichev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th minute Sergey Stanishev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pepe Urtaza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 12 minutes, Spiro Pishimarov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bulgaria and the Colombia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tzocho Yavrichev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hibai Archuleta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dinko Domuschiev struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Pepe Urtaza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bulgaria. If Sergey Stanishev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22ndth minute of the game Hibai Archuleta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bulgaria's Tzocho Yavrichev was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bulgaria's Tzocho Yavrichev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hibai Archuleta in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hibai Archuleta in the 28th minute of play forced Bulgaria's goalkeeper Tzocho Yavrichev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tzocho Yavrichev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hibai Archuleta in the 36th minute of play. Dinko Domuschiev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Colombia's Pepe Urtaza got control of the ball when Prokopi Gutzev tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hibai Archuleta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tzocho Yavrichev having to interfere. Sergey Stanishev's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Pepe Urtaza firmly grabbed it by the left post. After some careless play in the Bulgaria defense, Patricio Burgos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tzocho Yavrichev. The Bulgaria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tzocho Yavrichev should have stopped the shot.

After 53 played minutes, Bulgaria's Iliyan Fichev shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pepe Urtaza came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bulgaria reached it. Darin Yanchovski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pepe Urtaza having to make a save. 62 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Darin Yanchovski came free, but Pepe Urtaza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Colombia's Hibai Archuleta in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bulgaria's goalie prevented a goal. Colombia's Pepe Urtaza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dinko Domuschiev in the 67th minute of play. Tzocho Yavrichev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hibai Archuleta in the 69th minute of play. Pepe Urtaza came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Bulgaria's Darin Yanchovski. But to his dismay, Darin Yanchovski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Prokopi Gutzev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pepe Urtaza having to interfere. Bulgaria's Vihren Mitikov was substituted for Martin Yanev. Colombia's Gombal Cordova was substituted for Patricio Burgos. Tzocho Yavrichev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Txanton Pabon, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 77th minute Ederono Sabugo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tzocho Yavrichev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Colombia's Gombal Cordova in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bulgaria's goalie prevented a goal. Pepe Urtaza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dinko Domuschiev, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 89th minute of the match, Robi van Persie tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tzocho Yavrichev saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Tzocho Yavrichev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robi van Persie in the 94th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Colombia's Robi van Persie ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tzocho Yavrichev. Tzocho Yavrichev yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Colombia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
