In the 46th minute Julius Bürgler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jochen Kamp to strike the kick off in the second half. Julius Bürgler who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Switzerland's Cooper Frischkopf was substituted for Yvan Egger. Hanjo Fischer made in the 57th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Switzerland's Freddy Melone. Lukas Wüst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jochen Kamp, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz was out of position in the 77 minute of play, and Benjy Fäh capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Benjy Fäh really showed his touch with that goal: 4-2. 83 minutes into the match, Switzerland's goal looked a bit too open when Jochen Kamp came free, but Lukas Wüst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benjy Fäh received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz came out and tried to block the shot, but Benjy Fäh slotted it home off the left post making it 4-3 in the 87th minute. In the 93rd minute of the game Hanjo Fischer made a throw-in which Tobias Spielvogel played forward. Germany's Halldor Kolb got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
