In the 9thth minute of the game Donavon Dalton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Austria's Timo Grasser was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 9th match minute, U21 Austria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jakob Lüger to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to U21 Austria getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Jakob Lüger hit a great ball. Marc-Joel Payer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baiste O'Neill having to interfere. U21 Austria's Timo Grasser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donavon Dalton in the 20th minute of play. Timo Grasser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donavon Dalton in the 22nd minute of play. Daniel Tschida could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Baiste O'Neill made a huge save. U21 Austria's Timo Grasser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brann Morrison in the 34th minute of play. Timo Grasser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donavon Dalton in the 36th minute of play. Daniel Tschida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Baiste O'Neill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kain McJohn in the 43rd minute of play forced U21 Austria's goalkeeper Timo Grasser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, U21 Ireland's Baiste O'Neill got control of the ball when Marc-Joel Payer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Baiste O'Neill made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Tschida in the 47th minute.

The wind increased when Dennis-Sven Borgmann made the kick off in the second half. When U21 Ireland's Kain McJohn in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Austria's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Donavon Dalton in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Timo Grasser prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Danann McStephen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timo Grasser having to interfere. U21 Ireland made a substitution. Tirloch Harkin replaced Artt Crowe. In the 71st minute, Jonas Hautot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baiste O'Neill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jakob Lüger, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 77 minutes into the game, when Markus Steiner put in a rough tackle. 77 minutes into the game, one of U21 Austria:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave U21 Ireland a penalty, 79 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Kain McJohn, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of U21 Austria's Timo Grasser. 0-1. 83 minutes into the game, Danann McStephen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Timo Grasser. Danann McStephen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. The audience was convinced that Donavon Dalton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Timo Grasser was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. In the 89th minute, Bastian Keitel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Baiste O'Neill was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The U21 Ireland players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented U21 Austria from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
