Spectators: 10300 (Terracing: 7725, Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dominik Brytan started the match with the kick off. Dominik Brytan took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nicodim Jivulescu. Nicodim Jivulescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Dominik Brytan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Nicodim Jivulescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicodim Jivulescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dominik Brytan in the 17th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Walery Cieliczka in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicodim Jivulescu saved U21 Romania from getting behind. Nicodim Jivulescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dominik Brytan in the 29th minute of the match. Francisc Joja kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Jurek Dudek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niculae Izbașa in the 35th minute of play. Dominik Brytan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Nicodim Jivulescu made a huge save. The supporters of U21 Romania booed when U21 Poland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dominik Brytan didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Niculae Izbașa was the one to do the kick off. U21 Romania's Nicodim Jivulescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominik Brytan in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dominik Brytan in the 60th minute of play forced U21 Romania's goalkeeper Nicodim Jivulescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Francisc Joja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 69 minutes into the game, Tolek Barna threw the ball into play from the sideline. U21 Romania's Marcu Ciolofan quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 72 played minutes U21 Romania got a freekick which was hit by Lucian Miclea. Niculae Izbașa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jurek Dudek read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Walery Cieliczka in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicodim Jivulescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 85th play minutes Walery Cieliczka shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Nicodim Jivulescu and just under the crossbar into goal. Walery Cieliczka kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. The throw-in from Marcu Ciolofan in the 90th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by U21 Poland's Tolek Barna. Tobiasz Zajonc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Nicodim Jivulescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicodim Jivulescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walery Cieliczka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. U21 Poland had played much better football throughout.
