Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Fred Ljungberg got the match started through his kick off. 10 minutes into the game, Woody Allen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Spain's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave England the free kick. In the 11th match minute, Spain was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Woody Allen to maneuver through the defense. Vernon Auckland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jair Domínguez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. England's Vernon Auckland proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save England from getting a goal against them. Spain's Jair Domínguez got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vernon Auckland stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Naike Casas's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Vernon Auckland made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Jair Domínguez sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, England's Mirek Szymkowiak got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind England's goalkeeper Vernon Auckland, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sancho Jaraba in the 27th minute of play forced England's goalkeeper Vernon Auckland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31stth minute of the game Sancho Jaraba who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but England's Vernon Auckland was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 38 played minutes Spain got a freekick which was hit by Eloy Hevia. 42 minutes into the game, Dean Brindley cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Arnalt Figueroa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dean Brindley struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Arnalt Figueroa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for England. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
Vernon Auckland stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sancho Jaraba's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Vernon Auckland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sancho Jaraba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vernon Auckland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Naike Casas in the 59th minute of play. A collision led to England getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Danny Foster hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the game, Sancho Jaraba cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Vernon Auckland was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Spain's Urdin Cao was substituted for Woody Allen. Vernon Auckland came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Spain's Jair Domínguez. But to his dismay, Jair Domínguez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Spain's Xove Herrera was substituted for Naike Casas. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chris Cuss got free with Arnalt Figueroa in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arnalt Figueroa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fred Ljungberg in the 77th minute. 81 minutes into the match, England's goal looked a bit too open when Sancho Jaraba came free, but Vernon Auckland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84th minute Fred Ljungberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnalt Figueroa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Jair Domínguez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Spain's supporters rose to their feet, but Jair Domínguez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vernon Auckland breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vernon Auckland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sancho Jaraba in the 90th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute Urdin Cao shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vernon Auckland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Spain's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
