Despite this Szabolcs Zolnai quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 17th minute Dávid Radics shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimir Motyčák saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vladimir Motyčák showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dávid Radics in the 18th minute of the match. The corner went over the outstretched arms of U21 Slovakia's goalie and right to Dávid Radics. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. U21 Slovakia's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 22 minutes into the match, U21 Slovakia's goal looked a bit too open when Dávid Radics came free, but Vladimir Motyčák reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Csongor Bánhegyi kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. When Ale Ba came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the U21 Slovakia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ale Ba couldn't finish the play. Vladimir Motyčák made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dávid Radics in the 32nd minute of play. Dalibor Zábojník made in the 34th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Ľubomír Záhorský immediately put the ball in play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dávid Radics in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vladimir Motyčák saved U21 Slovakia from getting behind. Matej Jedlík received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Szabolcs Zolnai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Péter Borsó struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Vladimir Motyčák didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Hungary. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dávid Radics made a kick off. Vladimir Motyčák made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dávid Radics in the 51st minute of play. U21 Slovakia's Matej Šútora was substituted for Tomáš Pekarovič. After having played for 61 minutes, Csongor Bánhegyi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Hungary's supporters crossed their fingers, but Csongor Bánhegyi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Péter Borsó kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Ľubomír Záhorský fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Szabolcs Zolnai having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Csaba Vajda took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Vladimir Motyčák to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Csaba Vajda in the 94th minute of play forced U21 Slovakia's goalkeeper Vladimir Motyčák to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute, U21 Slovakia's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Péter Borsó fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. U21 Hungary had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
